Never thought I’d call a skid plate beautiful but this thing is a work of art! There are quite a few parts for the install but everything lined up perfectly and installation was quite easy. One of the selling points for me was the fact that you can change the oil and filter without having to remove the skid plate unlike some other brands.

A friend of had one on his 2014 V-Strom so l check it out and was so impressed, order one for my V-Strom.
I like that it has access to oil drain plug and fairly easy to install too… Also shipped right to my door usually within a week… Awesome service Twisted Throttle, thank you!

the guard is very well made and looks great! i was very impressed so i purched the SW-motech engine guards rather than ghe suzuki engine guards. These also were very well made, except that the left side sticks out an inch and a half further than the right side, therefore should have purchsed the suzuki brand. When contacting twisted throttle, was told this was how they were supposed to fit.

I bought these to replace a Givi set that the dealer had put on for me when I bought the bike. They are so much better, much more substantial and rugged. The skid plate is nice and long and fully protects the exhaust and engine cases connecting to the cases in three places with much thicker formed metal supports than the Givi.
I should have bought the SW Motech right from the start. I would have saved money in the long run.

I like how I can change my oil and filter without removing any parts. Also feels very strong, should do a great job protecting the exhaust system.

After dings in my last V-Strom exhaust, I said never again. The choice for the new bike was easy. SW-Motech has the quality and functionality I wanted. Easy to change oil and filter.

I took mine into some pretty wild washes and trails in Arizona and this thing really took a beating. Lightweight, easy to attach, and only takes about a half inch of your clearance away. Definitely a necessity if you want to ride hard!

I bought this and installed to my new DL1000 ’14 with factory installed Suzuki crash bars. It was a perfect fit and looks better live than in the picture. Great design with ample room to access drain plug and oil filter. I would definitely recommend.

This is my second SW Motech skid plate, the first one went on my 2005 DL650, and this one is mounted on my 2014 DL1000. This thing is stout, very well made, and it fits perfectly. I have one quibble with the kit, however, and that’s with the supplied “hardware store” looking bolts on the front of the skip plate that secure it to the mounting bracket. They’re cadmium plated ordinary rough-looking bolts that scream, “I did this at home!” As with the first one I had, I went out and got some nice looking 8mm stainless steel set-screw bolts to properly finish the job. Any easy fix to a purely cosmetic problem.
As with everything from Twisted Throttle shipping was reasonably fast, and the item was very well packed, arriving in perfect condition.
