haydenkd from kawasakiversys.com said on November 10 2010:
“It is a very well made unit and I like the two tone [black and silver color]. It makes the transition from black to silver as it leaves the motor and surrounds the muffler. Kind of blends in.
Installation does require that you remove the original plastic lowers and their mounting brackets.
An earlier post [in kawasakiversys.com] indicated that you used the original brackets to mount the new skid plate. Not so. SW-MOTECH uses a 3/16″ or so plate support that bolts to the motor frame in front and the through-bolt in back. They are the same connection points that are used for the crash bars. Very strong with good rubber grommets to minimize vibes.
Oil changes: I use a filter that has a nut on the end (K&N) so I think you could probably change the filter with the skid plate on the bike. But I don’t think I will. I’d just undo 6 of the 8 skid plate attachment bolts and let it swivel down on the other 2 providing access to the filter.
Pricey? Yeah. Quality and fit. Top notch.”

Fits well with my SW Motech crash bars. Has taken a few hits from rocks on dirt roads and protected the engine in exchange for a few dings. Changes the sound of the engine a little: I can hear my engine with stock exhaust a little better vs wind noise. It adds a little to the work of changing the oil but that is only once a year. (Note: for rating, I rarely give the best rating on items unless they exceed my expectations, so 4 stars is not a reason not to buy one of these)

Looks nice, fits like it was made for the bike, good quality. What else is there?

Installed both the skid plate and crash bars. Only had them about a month and have laid it down in the dirt twice. They work great and do exactly what they are supposed to do. Instructions aren’t too good but can be figured out pretty easily. very happy.

Great fit and looks great too. Instructions were vague and took a while to figure out but end result was good.

This skid plate is very well made. Cosmetically it looks great on the bike once installed. It looks as though the bike should have this on it and does a great job protecting the exhaust system.

These are great if your on the roads I am, quality parks, and pretty easy to install. Although If you have an after market exhaust, you may have to adjust it, like I had to in order to get the left side in place,
Over all worth the money, and they look cool !
