Greg –
I bought this for a 2015 FJR. Installed with foam according to directions and on 1st ride my temps which are normally in the 160 – 180 range while riding shot up to 200+ and would not come back down even when increasing road speed. Temp was 230 when I pulled into my driveway and shut off the bike on a very shorted ride. Replaced stock shield and temps went right back down to 160-180. After I took the shield off I wanted to test the airflow penetration so I took my air hose and shot it at the shield while it covered my face and there was minimal air flow hitting me. Disappointed as it has excellent build quality but no airflow due to small openings in wire mesh. Others indicate it worked for them, just not the unit I received.

I’ve made a number of purchases from Twisted Throttle and never a complaint. Very helpful staff with expert knowledge for us adventure riders. With the FJR1300 radiator hanging so low the guard is required to avoid a problem down the road. Product by R&D was a great choice. Perfect fit and looks great. Thanks to the guys at Twisted Throttle my FJR is now ready to Ride! More orders to follow!

Easy install utilizing the original screws that come with stock radiator guard which is a rather flimsy plastic wide-spaced guard.
Fit is perfect, very sturdy and well-made, oozes quality everywhere and looks stock, extremely happy with this purchase.
No need to remove the horn, just pull it forward to make space for the screw on right side.

Bought this item as I actually got a hole in my radiator on a trip when I was in Kalispell MT, I live in Washington State. Took my son and I about 20 minutes to uninstall the plastic Yamaha guard and install the R&G. Runs the same on highway just a tic hotter in the city stop and go. Very happy with product.

I bought this guard in order to protect my vulnerable radiator from damage caused by rocks or whatever, coming off the road surface. The plastic cover that was stock on the bike did not seem like much of a defense against what could be a very serious mechanical break-down at probably the worst time possible. A little over cautious? Maybe, but I ride on a few “unimproved” roads where I really don’t want to be stranded. It was a snap to put on. 30 minutes tops.

This piece fit my 2014 FJR1300 ES with no issues. Took about 10 minutes to install. This guard covers more area for protection than the stock plastic guard.
Worth the money? You bet. No brainer.
