Description

Preserve your fairings to keep them looking good as new with the R&G Second Skin paint protection film for Yamaha YZF-R6. Extremely durable polyurethane is precision cut to fit perfectly for a nearly invisible shield of defense that is also UV stable to prevent yellowing. This premium paint protection is designed to preserve the paint and clear coat from light impact damage that can leave unsightly stains and permanent scars. Each piece is applied with a self-adhesive backing which also enhances the structural strength of the OEM plastics to reduce the risk of stress fractures. The Second Skin provides protection for the most vulnerable panels like the nose front fender and the leading edges of the fairing that are inevitably going to be damaged during normal use. Additional pieces are included for use in areas prone to wear and tear like the mid-fairing tail or any other painted surface that you may contact while riding. Don’t let the visual appeal of your motorcycle suffer from stone chips scuffs and discoloration from bug splatter or bird droppings. With the included fitting solution installation is not as difficult as you may think and very simple for the average DIY’er. Keep your rig looking like it just rolled off the showroom floor with Second Skin paint protection film from R&G!

Features:

  • High strength nearly invisible low profile (less than 1mm) UV stable polyurethane film
  • Safeguards the clear coat & painted finish from stone chips scratches & scuffs
  • Protects against stains from bug splatter tar bird droppings & road grime
  • Increases structural strength of plastics to help prevent stress cracks
  • Defends the most vulnerable sections of bodywork including the tail where likely to get scuffed when throwing a leg over
  • Precision cut to fit each body panel like a second skin for maximum protection
  • Highly recommended to keep your R6 looking like new for miles to come
  • A great investment for the track to combat flying rubber & tar
  • Great for use on the street especially when riding in with other motorcycles
  • Simple installation with included fitting solution

Includes:

  • R&G Second Skin paint protection film (20 pieces total)
  • Detailed installation instructions

I don’t know who makes this product, but I don’t think it is 3m. The coverage is poor. There are actually 3 pieces that cover the front fairing and their are gaps between them, so eventually the paint will show the outline of where the film was. This defeats the purpose of having it. I had a lot of difficulty getting the film to stick around the edges, and to any concave surface. Lastly, there is absolutely no film for the tank. I’ve purchased a sheet of 3M 24” by 96” for $40 dollars more to do the tank and replace the film on the front fairing.
