First, just want to say that my experience with anything motorcycle-related is very minimal. I’ve only been riding for a total of two months, and had my first crash last week. The bike is a 2012 Triumph Street Triple R. It was a fairly non-eventful lowside at about 40 mph on a bunch of grass/dirt/gravel in the road on a night-time commute home from work. Bike slipped out from under me pretty damn quick and slid about around 75 feet on asphalt, give or take a little (I didn’t even think to measure how far it slid).
The sliders completely protected my tank and radiator from any damage at all- they still look brand new. I did grind up my left engine cover pretty bad, so my next purchase is going to be some… you guessed it, engine covers. The slider puck didn’t even lose much of it’s material, so I don’t think I’ll bother replacing it- it is only missing maybe 1/8″ of material off of the front half of it.
Anyways, I’ve never had a bike before, and these were the first sliders I bought and used, and I’m very happy with how they performed. I will definitely be recommending these to my buddies!
