We have brought in a new KLR to test fit previous generation products, but we can’t confirm this product fitment just yet.

I’ve been wanting these bars since I bought my new KLR in ’17. I pulled the trigger this summer and began outfitting my bike for TAT ride next spring. I have come close to laying down my bike a couple times, but always rode a little more cautiously then I wanted. I knew that without these bars, a cracked cowl or a damaged radiator would be very costly. Now I can ride like I want knowing that these bars will protect my front end. Not to mention: They look BAD A**!
Installation was fairly simple. Start to finish took about an hour. I do recommend watching a couple videos (plenty on YouTube). I also recommend having a friend to help.

Saved the plastics more than once. No damage done at all. Good finish on bars.

Got the sw motec crash bars and skid plate and they weren’t to crazy hard to install. Skid plate covers complete engine with a cutout for the drain plug. Factory drain plug is protected nicely, engine cases fully protected. Crash bars are a nice fitment as well. Total install time for me was 3 hours. Skid plate Installed easyer with a helper. Both are built well to protect you ride

These things are stout and looked great once installed on my 2018 KLR but do yourself a favor and recruit a second pair of hands. Once they were mounted, I was pleased but ready for a nap and not a ride

I’m very impressed with the appearance, ergonomics and ruggedness in the improved design of these crash bars. Definitely worth every penny!

I have had at least 6-8 drops/layovers with these crash bars and they have protected my plastics very well. They do however bend at the top fairly easy, but a ratchet straps and a pole can fix that with ease. Overall, I recommend them.

As always instructions are not always the best. I you tubed the install and was glad I did. The fellow at Donyboy73 was super and even told me of the M8 allansocket that was critical in getting the seat bolts off the bike in order to install the bars. Something not in the instructions.

Both products were great! Loose fit everything first! Start with the two rear screws first on the skid plate, mine took some persuasion. Crash bars are easy! Take your time and get blue loktite No drilling at all with both! Twisted throttle delivered! Although I’m not sure how the twisted throttle points work, anyhow I will be using them for all my Klr 650 needs!!! also got a fork brace by eagle Mike and subframe screws yet to install this winter I will!

I review all my purchases these days since my wife got me this iPad. Knowing what’s coming in the mail with no surprises makes the process a breeze. Researched the sw motech crash bars against others and decided they were worth the extra dollars. Very well built ! No problem installing ! Took the Klr up to the trails last week and pushed it hard on some paths that were a bit to much for man and beast. Dumped it 4 times. A few scratches but no damage whatsoever ! I could be spending the next week on numerous bike repairs . But I’m not I’m going back out on the trails ! Cuz I bought these great crash bars from twisted throttle! Smart purchase. Would recommend to anyone especially riding off road!

This is a must have if you do real offroading with your klr. I have used them a few times already and they protect everything. Especcially in addition to the sw motech handguards and skid plate. It was not hard to install but set at least an hour or two aside as you have to take the fairings and gas tank off in order to i stall this.

Just received my SW Motech crash bars and the installation went very well and was
very easy if you follow the instructions. Note: If you get the SW Motech Skid plate at the same time ( like I did ) install the crash bar first ( not like I did ). Other then that,
the fit was excellent and the quality of the product appears to be very good as well.

I’m very happy with my purchase not only is the quality number one, butccf the fit and finish are incredible. The engine guard and the body guard work seamlessly together ! I I’ll be ordering more SW Motech products for my BMW GSA as well as KLR, thank you Twisted Throttle!

Very happy with these ! Installation was overall pretty easy, although I stripped the subframe bolt (back part of the bike was badly aligned) Eagle Manufacturing Subframe Bolt Upgrade Kit For Kawasaki KLR650 ’87-’17 With SW-MOTECH Crash Bars – a 30$ upgrade that saved my life! I strongly recommend that you upgrade the subframe bolt at the same time since the bike will be ready for it !

I haven’t dumped the bike yet but going on a 6000km ride thru Baja Mexico and I’m sure they won’t look quite as pretty after. I installed on a 2008 KLR. Straight forward install took a couple of hours with a YouTube cheat vid. No special tools needed.
