As I was paying for gas someone hammered the back of my GS800 adventure at the pump. It was sent back a few feet on its side. The bars saved it. I big gouge and scratches on the so his insurance will be getting me a new set.

After reading many reviews of the brand including an insurance adjuster who said that these hold up the best during a crash I decided to give them a shot. So far I haven’t crashed but the fit is great, and they are much stronger than the factory bars. I have no doubt these will take a beating. Install was quick and easy. They look better in person than the stock photos

There are only three crash bars available for the F800GSA, I looked at others including ADV designs and Hepco and Becker and this one made my top list for these reasons:
1- The bars attach to the frame, HB attaches to the weak piece of metal that holds the instrument cluster, in case of crash that piece will bend and the dashboard might break, seems a long way from where is impact is but that’s where the force is transferred.
2- Price, if the crash bars cost over $400 from other brands, it would be enervating to bend them or scratch them; These offer enough protection and for the price if they get used a lot and want to keep the bike , I can get another one
The cons:
In order for these to work well, you must have a good hand/lever protection, preferably something with aluminum: when the bike crashes the bars protect the bottom half of the radiator plastic guard, in case the bike roll a bit, the handlebar guards would keep the top half away from impact.
Hope this helps
