Description

The SW-MOTECH crash bars engine guards for Honda CB500X protect the most critical components of the motorcycle such as the frame engine cases radiator and fairings during a tip over or slide. Robust 27 mm tubular steel keeps the motorcycle off the ground to prevent direct impacts or abrasions that would otherwise cause catastrophic damage and leave you stranded. These indispensable crash bars are a smart investment for the CB500X especially if the motorcycle is used for exploration off pavement. Installation is simple as no drilling cutting welding or other modifications are necessary simply bolt on and your motorcycle is protected. Keep your Honda safe with these high quality German engineered crash bars from SW-MOTECH!

Features:

  • Robust 27 mm thick tubular steel bars
  • High strength 2 mm wall thickness
  • Superior protection for the frame radiator engine cases & fairings from damage in a tip over or slide
  • Space efficient design hugs the body to maintain a low profile
  • Corrosion resistant and highly durable powder coated black finish
  • Secures to the frame utilizing existing mounting points for maximum support
  • Cross bar support enhances structural rigidity
  • Precision fit and high quality finish on the CB500X
  • Straightforward bolt-on installation requires no drilling cutting welding or other modifications
  • Designed & engineered in Germany

What’s in the box:

  • Left & right SW-MOTECH rash bars
  • Mounting hardware
  • Installation instructions
Important note: The Honda CB500X requires special caution when removing the forward lower engine mounts. Even with the remaining engine-mount bolts still in place removing both forward mounts will cause the engine to sag in the frame. How do we know? We tested the SW-Motech Engine Crash Guards and the SW-Motech Aluminum Skid Plate Engine Guards on a 2016 CB500X and had difficulty installing the mounting hardware. In fact the frame/engine misalignment made it impossible to insert either the accessory hardware or the stock bolts and spacers. The misalignment is reduced if you remove only one engine-mounting bolt at a time but the real solution is to support the engine from below any time you remove any mounting bolts.

    Ken O

I found they were easy to install following the instructions with also using the tips left in the comments.
Look good in the bike and one I hope not to have to use but know they will support the bike should that be needed.
