Broke after one 0 km/h drop

They look pretty but the design where the 2 crash bars bolt together infront of the radiator is no good. I let the bike down gently on an uphill section from a dead stop and the bars cracked where the bolts pass through the 2 bars pinching them together. The total material cross section keeping the bars bolted together is maybe a 1/4″ of material which is totally undersized for the loads and vibrations that they put up with. First time they cracked I welded it back together, it immediately cracked again.

They look decent and feel sturdy. I feel more at ease having them in case of a tip over.
I’m not willing to test their durability in a crash though so I can’t speak for that yet haha.

    Heavy duty protection bars

Happy to have made my decision to get these, they bolt to and replaces the cheap KTM guards which break after a minor crash. Painted the bolts and spacers black, all is well

Strong and protects the engine and tank

I am riding the KTM 1190 Adventure and this product is according to my expectations. You should though be aware that it doesn’t fit on your bike if you are using other skid plate then from SW-MOTECH. This is strong and easy to install.

saved a lot of damage to my bike

    rcrosson

I installed the crash bar on my bike just before the KTM rally in Taos, nm and turned the bike over on an uphill slow turn around. Only damage to the bike was deep scratches on the crash bar and minor scratches on the plastic handguard. Saved my paint and my gas tank. Crash bar worked as it should.
