STventure –
I would not call these “crash Bars” as they appear to be way too light duty for that. Tip over bars, maybe, but even that seems a stretch. I bought these bars because of price (around half of others I had found) and mostly to allow the addition of highway bars and maybe some driving lights in the future. I was able to install some highway pegs and they are working out fine.
The bars seem to be a lighter material and thickness than other bars I’ve had on other bikes but should work for what I want.
Instillation went fairly well but the fit on the bolt holes was a little tight. I had to put the bars onto the upper bolt (rod) first and then finesse the lower bolts into the holes. The instructions were mostly helpful, but a little lacking.

I’m looking at R&G adventure bars for 2014 r1200rt. Some described as 25.4 mm and some as 22mm. Is this a misprint. I want the 25.4 mm
