    Fits as expected. Nice replacement.

Just put this on my Africa twin… everything lines up and replaces stock plastic piece nicely. You will probably want new mounting bolts as the old “mushroom” heads on the original bolts stand high (looks weird). Extends way beyond the original.

    Review update... Massive part failure.

    Rlwilliams03x

After only 400 miles of street and gravel road riding, this part failed completely. I am not a heavy or aggressive rider. After riding some washboards on a gravel road 50miles from my house, I started hearing clankikng from the back of my bike. Upon inspection, all three bend points on the guard had failed (broken) completely. I did not wreck or hit anything…it simply cracked I’m guessing due to the vibration of the road. I did notice during the installation that the aluminum used was quite thin, however I did not expect it to be a problem, as I do not ride aggressively or on severe roads. Will be contacting R&G and Twisted Throttle to see what can be done about this sub quality part. $100 is a lot of money for such a shoddy part.

    Inferior construction

    Mike

Mine lasted less than 100 miles of gravel fire roads. This product is absolutely a waste of money and time. The “flimsy” original plastic guard, that the description mentions, is much tougher.

    Chain Guard has been revised

    Twisted Throttle Staff

This Chain Guard has been revised to address the previous issue with the aluminum cracking and breaking from the mounts. This issue is no longer a problem.

    Don’t waste your money

    Glen Maxwell

After reading the reviews and seeing that Twisted Throttle stated previous issues were corrected I ordered one May, 2018. Now I experienced some health issues and didn’t get to ride much for about 20 months. About 3500 miles, mostly street, with some gravel roads, and I see some marking on my rear wheel. Close exam shows chain guard is such a flimsy design that it is bouncing and rubbing the rim to the point that there is black finish off the rim showing the bare aluminum. After removing guard, I could see that it had also been contacting the chain.
“Robust” it is not! The description calls the stock chain guard “flimsy”, but comparatively the R&G is flimsy.
