The Eagle Mfg & Eng preload adjustment knob is manufactured using high strength aluminum and anodized black for a durable finish. Your OEM knob is plastic and will get damaged very easily. Replace it with the Eagle Mfg & Eng knob which is many times stronger than the factory version.

Also included with the preload adjustment knob are 2 new detent balls 2 new springs and a new screw (just in case you drop the original!).
