Description
The SW-MOTECH QUICK-LOCK tank bag system enables the tank bag to be mounted or removed easily without the use of straps or magnets that may damage your motorcycle’s finish. The system includes the tank bag upper tank ring and a separately available tank ring that is designed to be installed onto the motorcycle. Once the system is assembled the tank bag can be snapped securely into place or removed by pulling a release lanyard at the front of the unit.

As any other sw-motech items, this bag is great. Lots of conpartments inside, carrying strap and comes with a rain cover as well. That being said the bag is a little on the small side, i can only fit my rain gear and 2 water bottles and its about full without opening the extension zipper. Contrary to other reviews on adv, the bag sits a little high on a 2018 vstrom 650 and the angle doesnt contour the tank as well as it could. Sure you can opt to mount it closer to the handlebar but you loose some turning radius…

I don’t leave many reviews, but figure I’ve put enough miles on this bag to hold a solid opinion. I bought this in 2014 to travel and commute more efficiently. It practically lives on my bike, only coming off at night if I’m sleeping somewhere where the bike has to live outside. I recently took a 7k miles road trip, and hit dust, rain, everything with it. In the middle of that trip, the quick attach mechanism stopped snapping into position, making the bag no longer hold to the ring. I was able to disassemble it completely at a gas station with the tools I carry.. A little bit of bike grease to the inner moving parts and it’s locking back since with no issues. It’s waterproof enough that I stopped traveling with the rain cover it comes with. (2.5 hours in straight downpour, just the front and parts of the bottom of the bag got moist, barely wet, without the rain cover)
I think the bag has even dropped in price; I bought it at $285. I would buy it at a $300 price for all the use I’ve gotten out of it.
Fully loaded, it sits a little high, but I love that I can fit a 6 pack of bottles with spare room on the sides even.
My next bike is getting a bag from the same company.
