Rush Blaine –
Purchased this bag and only used a handful of times. The tank locking mechanism often freezes up and is difficult to loosen when it gets stuck. One time it actually got stuck on my bike and wouldn’t disengage, even after puling the mechanism repeatedly with force. Reached out to SW Motech to report the issue, and after several weeks, I still haven’t heard back. Although I like the look of the new Pro engage model, I’ve decided to take my business elsewhere due to a lack of customer support, warranty support, from SW-Motech.

Rush, We are sorry to hear the trouble you have experienced with the locking mechanism. Periodic maintenance such as the use of a dry lubricant will help extend the life of this product. Feel free to reach out to our customer service team on 855-255-5550 and we can discuss next steps for you. Even if you’re no longer in the warranty period, we’ll help you obtain available replacement parts to get back on the road. Twisted Throttle is SW-Motech’s North American distributor.

The tank ring system works as expected, but the bags are way too close to handlebars and impede handlebar movement. I ended up having to take a different, non SW-Motech bag and adapt the tank ring system for it.

DanG –
The SW Motech Engage (non-electric) bag is well made and functional. However, during installation I noted (see photo) that the holes for attaching hardware to secure bag to mount fall in line with two of the rivets located on the bottom of bag. This prevents the bag from being mounted all the way forward on tank. Thus, the bag has to be mounted slightly back towards rider.

Not huge but sleek and nice on the vstrom 650DL, too bad the bracket takes up some inner space also

really nice quality bit of a pain mounting..but not too bad. once it is mounted its really easy to install and remove. not that big for using on long trips but great for day rides. easily holds a water bottle, wallet, extra gloves and sunglasses…etc.
