It’s expensive for what it is, bigger than it needs to be, secures ok but not great, and I wouldn’t need it if the tankbag (Engage) had a map slot like it ought to.

If I were you, I’d get a hiker’s map case and stick it on with paracord and velcro tape.

    Poor Design

    R80sDON

This map holder is obviously generic and is secured rather poorly and not up to the standard set by the SW tank bag.

    Good news...Bad news

    Ozonkiller

I bought this map holder because of it’s ability to hold a larger size map. I was not disappointed.
I was skeptical of the mounting system but those concerns were unwarranted as I just finished a 6100 mile trip, some of it in very windy conditions and it never budged.
Now the bad news… I rode through some very light rain and my maps soon became soaked. Turns out the welting around the clear plastic actually absorbs water and soon the maps are getting wet and the edges of the map pocket actually start to fog up. I’m going to try and find a way to waterproof the edges or put the maps in zip lock bags.
Yes, I’ll recommend this to a friend but with a warning of this short coming

    Works as advertised!

    Flewnvy

Great map holder and accessory for the SW-MOTECH Engage tank bag. Used it on a trip to Minnesota and works fine. Holds the map security in the bag and the map holder is held in place by Velcro and two straps at the front of the holder. Absolutely no movement whatsoever.

    Very Good Map Case

    Pacific NW Rider

Bought this case to accommodate my EVO Daypack tank bag and pleased with the fit and size. This map case will hold several maps and other flat items as well
( phone , wallet , etc.. ) The overall quality is good with no complaints.

  7. Psycle

    Functional, but needed modification

    Psycle

I bought this to go on top of an Engage tankbag on my R1200R. It connects well, but given then shape of the tankbag, the map case ends up arching over the tankbag limiting the ability to put maps all the way to the top. I solved this by installing a small piece of black painted quarter-round at the end of the map case to keep it flat. This helped it a lot and makes it more usable. Note, even with raincover from tankbag over it, it is not fully waterproof.

    Top quality product

    GGE1956

Another top quality product from SW-Motech. I have always been impressed with SW-Motech products and this one does not disappoint. Attached easily to my tankbag and has a large window for easy map reading. Also fits my iPad.

A must have for Bag Connections Tank Bags

    GSRider

I love my Bag Connections tank bag but the lack of a map case would have been a deal breaker for me. This Map case add in is well made, attaches to a Bag Connections Bags quite well and fits a standard piece of printer paper. It’s also nice that it easily detaches from the Tank Bag so you can review your route without detaching your tank bag. Based on how it is created it looks like it would fit a number of Bag Connections tank bags. I highly recommend it and Twisted Throttle.

    Companion to GPS

    Carl

I have an Engage Quick Lock tank bag and bought the map holder to attach to the top of it. It is nice to see a “paper map” in addition to the GPS route, not to mention a secure place for “sticky notes”. Both are easy on and off.

    Great addition.

    Jim41

All the bag lacked was a map case. This completes a really good system.

    Map Holder Upgrade

    Tim

Used with the original Bags Connection City tank.bag.
Pro: had the original map holder and upgraded to the new improved Map Holder. I like the Full Size of the new map holder. It displays all of the 8.5″ x 11″ paper.
Con: the front fasteners on the original were very secure and the new front fasteners seem to be an after thought. If I had the original fasteners I would adapt them to the new map holder.
