Waste of money if you have a Canadian plate. This unit is meant for smaller American plates. Had to drill it out and mount it backwards as our larger plates cover the lock. Also the lock quality is questionable.

Idea is great. but it’s like they designed it backwards. If the outside shell clamped over the inner then it would make a lot more sense than the current f the outside shell having to slide into the inner shell; which is bolted to the bike. If it was built the other way it would be more water proof and easier to use when the box if filled.
As well, the holes don’t align to Ontario plates. Trying to figure out a work around on that one.

The box is for a 7 x 4 inch license plate but the Alberta motorcycle plates are 8 x 5 inch – too big for this item. The license plate blocks the key and the holes do not line up. I should have measured before ordering because I cannot use this item.

Smart product but makes you wonder about the dummies who make the bikes in the first place who don’t provide any space to hide the ownership and spare gas money.

I bought this for my sons motorcycle. It has no luggage or fairing. Perfect place to store registration and insurance papers. Only drawl back is the tag light doesn’t light the plate with the additional thickness of the product.

I received this on Friday, after careful consideration finally mounted on 2013 R1200R Saturday. Threw away most of the mounting hardware and bought 8-32 screws self locking nuts. Put the screw in just far enough to put a washer on it. A piece of tape on box end wrench to hold the nut. Just get it started and go to the open end side. Pain in the butt, not the boxes fault…Taillight blocked but you can still see the plate at night.

Used this handy little box to stash a CO2 inflator and (3) 20 gram cartridges. Enough CO2 for my KLR650 tires. Box is basically free if you buy it before having to pay for a taxi ride home. ( I did not ).

This is one of those handy inventions that will make you slap your forehead and wonder why you didn’t think of it. It is easy to install too and works great. It came with all the hardware. No bike should be without one. Never get caught without your “papers” again in the great American police state. You can also stash other things – an emergency check, a little cash, or whatever. No one will ever think to look there.

I bought the stash box to store my insurance documents for my KLR 650. It is a bit small for British Columbia license plates, and I had to mount it upside down so the plate did not cover the lock. Also the supplied screws for mounting the plate to the box did not seem very robust. I used bolts and nyloks instead. Will put it to the test on the trails this summer.

Great item. Wish it was metal but all the ones I’ve seen were 400 dollars. I can’t justify paying that because I would never be locking up anything of that value in it. This works great so your reg and insurance is already secure on the bike. No more worring about forgetting it. I did alter the box a bit hopping to dress it up a bit. I wanted my plates more secure than using the small screws that just ankered into the plastic. I drilled all the way through and used two different bolts that require special wrenches. I used locking washers on inside and waterproofed the bolts with clear flex seal caulk. I used locking washers on the box to plate frame and repeated the seal. I cut and added side view mirrors replacement to add a chrome look to the back of the flat back box. I recommend using Twisted Throttle they were awesome. Thank you Twisted Throttle!

These things are very handy for carrying paperwork, registration, spare fuses, etc. This is the second bike I’ve had them on and I find them very handy.

I got this stash box a few weeks ago and I love it. What a great idea. It’s slim and nearly invisible. Sometimes I don’t even noticed it there. I keep my important documents like my registration inside it. It’s a lot easier to access than lifting up my seat.

I’ve used this stash box on two of my BMW GS Adventure bikes and I find that it provides me with the perfect place to stash my motorcycle paperwork (registration and insurance).
You should know that this box is a general purpose box, not designed to fit any particular motorcycle, so you’ll need to drill holes, cut plastic, and think about how you’re going to install it. But, I’ve been able to get it to work on both bikes, and after some clever fabrication work, it fits perfectly.

I have three of these on various bikes ranging from a ’78 Honda CB550K to a ’14 Triumph Scrambler. I wrap my registration and insurance card inside a baggie and have never had an issue w/wet or soggy paperwork, so I can”t speak for the effectiveness of the o-ring seal. Installation is easy and the service from Twisted Throttle is always excellent. A great product at a good price.

I ride a HD Sportster 1200 and there isn’t any storage under the seat like on some bikes so I didn’t have anyplace to keep my registrtion. With this license plate storage box, it’s the perfect place to carry it. Completely happy with this purchase.

Bought this for my wife’s Honda CTX700 to store registration, insurance paperwork.
Install is easy with one noted exception. If you use a license plate frame with your license plate the provided pan head screws are too short to get a good bite in the plastic. A short trip the the Hardware Store and install is complete. One design issue is again with a license plate frame clearance with the key cylinder. I had to cut and file about a 1/4″ of metal off the license plate frame to clear the key frame.
So if you do not use a license plate frame my issues are not valid.

I bought this last week and it arrived through the postal service in four days. It installed just as described and was very easy to install. Certainly not a strong box as it is made of plastic but it does well what it is designed for. I am pleased with the product and it is a great place to keep my documents. It fits my Suzuki S40 very well.

I have an ’08 KLR 650. My motorcycle came with one of these already installed. It is functional and certainly well concealed, but it moves the license plate forward and away from the license plate light. At night, police cars would be unable to see the license plate because the light hits the top of the box instead of the plate. This might be a good thing for some people, but I am removing the box so I don’t have to worry about it. In conclusion, the box is functional, but requires movement of the license plate light.

I have two of these for a couple of my bikes to keep insurance, registration, etc. These are very simple but are perfect for what they are for. These are a breeze to install. The quality is high and they are rugged. One is on my KLR650 which I do some off road riding with and these things take the bumps and bruises.

Nice idea, would be handy but it blocks out the license plate light on my K1200R and not real sure that the plastic “hinge” would last in my cold climates. Would be a great addition on most bikes and would survive weather fine in a milder climate.

I have bought 5-6 of these over the years. All for different bikes of varying yrs 60’s-present. I haven’t had any issues with fitment.
I do not have to worry about my registration, emergency cash or spare key. One less thing to worry about carrying. The box blends in with the bike.

Because it fits exactly as your license plate it will mount to any motorcycle. It’s so well hidden that even I don’t notice it and is a great place for small items such as a photocopy of the ownership, a tube patch kit or a dash light bulb for example. A++

Absolutely will not fit the Ducati Multistrada even though it is listed as a Duc accessory. Cost almost as much to ship it back as it costs. Lesson learned. Be careful what you order.
