Finally, a proper Givi mount for a Ninjette!

Waited for *years* for this product. Nicely finished metal parts, good instructions, and the fit is perfect…. only one issue; the bolt that attaches the rack to the underside of the stock grab rail is rather a pain to get in properly. Aside from that, a beautiful piece of kit, and solid as the proverbial masonry outbuilding.

The rack an adapter plate installed without any problems. A great product all around, very happy with it and also the service from Twisted Throttle.

Solid, but hard to install. Right tools are key.

    teleboy

“6 bolts, easy install,” I thought. 2 hours later, I was able to catch my breath.

The first screw is the awkward one, hiding on the bottom side of the sissy bar (L and R), and the rack/bike body leave little to no room to access this. to get it in, you’d need a skinny flexible socket wrench. But the satisfaction of having the top rack and Givi box on solid outweighed the hassle.

Much searching to find a toprack for the elderly GPX250 here in Australia – no luck. Local garage said that this is the best product they have seen so go ahead and buy. Twisted Throttle had proper pictures and reviews (not just generic pictures of any old rack) so that I feel confident I have ordered the right product – important when paying all that freight to Australia! Looking forward to it’s arrival!

Nice Rack -- Some gotchas to install

    wendyjboss

I bought this rack about two weeks ago. It seemed simple enough to attach with just six screws, but it was deceptively difficult. There are two screws under the passenger grab rail that are almost impossible to get tight if you follow the pictorial directions sequentially. I left all my bolts loose as the instructions said, but I was not happy when i got to that step and found out the above issue. I ended up readjusting the rack so that it sat wider at the tail and that helped. However, the top attachment then goes on harder and you have to deform the rack by pushing hard to get the front bolts through. Knowing these gotchas will get you through. Also have a torque wrench on hand. I didn’t and ended up snapping one of the top rack bolts. The rep at twisted throttle was understanding when I called and sent the replacement bolt right away. Also be careful. This is designed to be lightweight so every nut appears to be aluminum. There is a mild danger of stripping otherwise. If I added up the time to install, I’d say it took me about 4-6 hours. That includes adding the top case adaptor which uses a locking bolt that I could not get through the provided snapping washer. I ended up ditching the washer and it went in just fine.Trial run is today… I’m glad to have found this rack here because it frees me up to stop using the bicycle panniers that I adapted for the motorcycle – an acceptable, but not ideal solution.

  6. RacepaceR

Looks sharp and is super sturdy.

    RacepaceR

Was actually easy to mount though the screws beneath the grab bar are annoying to tighten but it is not impossible. They designed a slit in the bar for another angle of access. I used it to mount a cutting board to provide a large mounting surface that helf my overstuffed camping bag with enough gear for two on a ride out to the Shenandoah river with my GF on the back…she had a sturdy back rest and enjoyed the added comfort. Thanks twisted throttle!

SW-mote have top rack for my 2006 Gpx Kawasaki

    Muncha

I have had this for a month now ,,, easy as pie to install initially , even the small bolts on the back rail underneath . Trick is to not tighten up the other bolts as you assemble …. Once they the bolts are all in , simply just adjust each one till it comes together …. Couldn’t get one of these in Australia…. So have with mine … Got a top box on eBay cheap $50… that fits well … Thanks twisted throttle
