    Very good rack

I have had this rack for a few months now. I have a shad 50 mounted to it with sw’s adapter. The case mounts to the adapter very securely. There is some flexing of the rack when I go over bumps. This is in part to the thickness of the rack and the rubber grommets that are between the trunk and the rack itself. Over all I’m happy with the rack, but if I had to do it all over I would probably get a rack from Phil’s Farkels.

    High quality

Purchased this for my 2009 Kawasaki Concours 14. With the original plastic luggage rack and a Givi top case it would flex so much my passenger could not lean back on the top case back rest. The top case would constantly smack my passenger in the back.
I purchased the steel luggage rack and Givi adapter to eliminate the moving and flexing of the top case.
It’s much more stable and rigid now and the case does not move as much now.

    C14 rack Review

The rack add much more stability to the top box. The plastic rack by Kawasaki was quite flimsy. This will also look much nicer when the top box adapter is removed.

Totally locked the case down so now I can put maybe 10 pounds in it, instead of just 6.

    Very adaptable

Sure beats the cheap piece of plastic that Kawasaki puts on the bike. I was able to mount a bestem trunk on it it with just a change of bolts to a shorter version.

Stiff plate to mount your TC, lousy hardware.

    gpd323

Just got this in, I had beefed up the stock GTR1400 base plate with aluminum fasteners under the stock plastic plate but there still was a bit of wobble left. Bought the TT steel plate and installed it today. The hardware it comes with to bolt it to the bike is weak. There are 4 bolts that attach the plate to the rear support that are 4mm Allen bolts. So when you screw down the 4 bolts that hold the plate to the bike and
start to tighten them down the small 4mm heads strip! Very soft metal. I used some 5mm socket cap bolts that work much better! My next complaint…. the hardware is all shiny SS!!! Even the lower spacers? And yet the plate is black, the bike attachment points are black. Would have been nice to have matching black hardware SW!
And, I had to add some rubber pads between the GIVI TC bracket and the TT plate to limit for fore/aft flex.
