Description
The Quick-Lock EVO carrier is next generation of luggage carrier by SW-MOTECH. Same great Quick-Lock design with a more robust tubular steel rack that has an even more narrow profile than the original sidecarrier! This carrier also features reinforced gussets where the arm joins the hoop for additional strength. The racks can be removed from the bike in less than 30 seconds without special tools by opening 3-4 quick-release fasteners on each side. These black powder-coated tubular steel racks are compatible with luggage cases from GIVI (Monokey system) TraX ALU-BOX Pelican Micatech V2 Kappa Shad Hepco-Becker Krauser and more. Luggage-specific adapter kits are sold separately.
When the racks are removed only 4 small mounting tabs remain visible on either side of the bike. These mounting tabs are almost invisible preserving the original visual appearance and size of your motorcycle. Required luggage-specific adapter kits are sold separately. In addition optional key locks (sold separately) are available to lock the racks to the bike with the key unlocking a pair of special quick-release fasteners which secure the racks on each side. The Quick-Lock racks are made of flat steel which presents the narrowest possible lateral profile. Bolt-on installation — no cutting or welding of motorcycle frame or bodywork is necessary. Racks are designed to work with original equipment manufacturer components — fender exhaust etc. The SW-MOTECH racks are ideal for the occasional weekend tourer who desires a “stealth” look during the week as well as the weekday commuter who needs an unencumbered machine for spirited weekend fun. Whatever your needs the SW-MOTECH racks allow maximum flexibility and convenience.
Overall width with racks: 500mm (19.7 inches)

I’ve had to of these racks on my KTM 990. The first rack lasted about seven years before the welds started to go. Not necessarily a criticism, it’s wear and tear I expect. I obviously bought the rack again. Personally, I think the rack is better suited for soft bags such as those from Mosko Moto rather than traditional aluminum panniers. The challenge is that small hits to the panniers tend to bend and damage the frame overtime making it difficult to align. In addition, I highly recommended the hard bolt mount kit and not the screw tabs as they tend not to hold the rack and place over time and mine would pop out occasionally creating a hastl on the trail. Overall it’s a great rack for the 990 and get the hard bolt kits as it’s hard to imagine people are going to take this rack on and off frequent enough that you need the standard screw tabs. Perhaps the hardboard kit should be standard in this crew tabs should be optional?
