The Quick-Lock EVO carrier is next generation of luggage carrier by SW-MOTECH. Same great Quick-Lock design with a more robust tubular steel rack that has an even more narrow profile than the original sidecarrier! The racks can be removed from the bike in less than 30 seconds without special tools by opening 3-4 quick-release fasteners on each side. These black powder-coated tubular steel racks are compatible with luggage cases from GIVI (Monokey system) TraX ALU-BOX Pelican Micatech V2 Kappa Shad Hepco-Becker Krauser and more. Luggage-specific adapter kits are sold separately.
Givi Monolock topcases come with an adapter plate that can be used to attach a case to the Kawasaki rear rack; order a Givi E250 plate if you want to add a Givi Monokey topcase to the Kawasaki rear rack. The Kawasaki version of the rear rack is NOT compatible with SW-MOTECH Quick-Lock top plates.
When the sideracks are removed only 3 small mounting tabs remain visible on either side of the bike. These mounting tabs are almost invisible preserving the original visual appearance and size of your motorcycle. Required luggage-specific adapter kits are sold separately. In addition optional key locks (sold separately) are available to lock the racks to the bike with the key unlocking a pair of special quick-release fasteners which secure the racks on each side. The Quick-Lock racks are made of flat steel which presents the narrowest possible lateral profile. Bolt-on installation — no cutting or welding of motorcycle frame or bodywork is necessary. Racks are designed to work with original equipment manufacturer components — fender exhaust etc. The SW-MOTECH racks are ideal for the occasional weekend tourer who desires a “stealth” look during the week as well as the weekday commuter who needs an unencumbered machine for spirited weekend fun. Whatever your needs the SW-MOTECH racks allow maximum flexibility and convenience.
Not compatible with the SW-MOTECH Toprack: GPT.08.391.100BR01 for the years 2007 through 2009 Versys or the GPT.08.714.15000.B for the year 2010 and later Versys. You can use one of the other but not both at the same time.
Note: Also compatible with Micatech V2 Cases

Jeremy –
Purchased these racks for my 2012 Versys with the Givi mounting kit. I bought these because I wanted to have the option to switch to different cases later on if I needed a more rugged case than the Givi trekkers.
Overall I am really happy with these racks I like the quick detach system and I like the way the cases sit on the bike. These are also very solid they fit very well on the bike and I have no worries about them coming off.
I have a few complaints about this kit one being that SW Motech’s instructions are very plain and sometimes hard to discern. That being said though I had these on my bike in about 4 hours and everything fit quite well.
ANother complaint would be the fit of the Givi kit. the bottom of the case sits loose on the shanks but I think I can solve this with the simple addition of a stick rubber bumper on the bottom of the racks. I also didn’t notice any vibration noise when I test rode it so, it’s probably not really a problem but I am going to add a bit of rubber just to be safe.
Lastly the wires for the turn signal extensions could definitely be longer by about 4 cm or so. It was a bit of a challenge to get them re-wired definitely the hardest part of the whole project.
Some tips I have for installing these:
If you already have or are going to install the SW Motech AluRack save the instructions and parts you will need to add two spacers from the AluRack kit to make the side racks fit with the AluRack.
Also there are four other spacers that come with the side rack kit that are exactly the same parts in the AluRack kit. If you have installed the AluRack kit you have already installed the proper spacers and don’t need the ones in the side case kit and vise versa.
To take the turn signals off remove the sub frame from the tail, all the bolts holding the frame on are on the bottom of the bike so it’s easy to take off and put back on. You need to do this because there is no other way to reach the screws holding the signals on.
