Best set of bags on the market

    Mike

This is the second set of side bags I’ve purchased. I love how the side racking comes off in minutes. They are very sturdy and durable. My last bike tipped over on one and barely scratched it. If it’s windy it tends to tip to one side like a wing though. Not too bad but enough to notice.

Great system, took forever for the mounts.

The bags themselves are great (look like OEM on a cb500x). Holding up well to wear and tear (if you can live with scratches on the plastic), the locks are high quality, and the bags do not leak in the rain. The optional inner bags fit well and are convenient, but these saddlebags are so easy to take on and off, they aren’t really essential. The racks look good too, the bike doesn’t look too bad with the bags off. would have given 5 stars, but the mounting kit for 2 bags (no top box) took 7 months to arrive!!!!! = a waste of one season with the saddlebags sitting in the garage. If Givi is back ordered, choose a different brand, otherwise a quality product.

    If this is best available?

I purchased these about a month ago. After much deliberation, I decided Givi was the way to go. I was terrible disappointed in both the form and function of these carriers. I installed them on a Ninja 1000 (very surprised I got it completed, considering the instructions were three pictures and in Italian with no translation). I get that they are Italian made and designed but if I were Italy, I would ask givi to stop using my name… With just a few modifications in design these would be much easier to install with out having to replace existing hardware. Had to purchase the rack system and adaptor kit, both made for the ninja 1000, appears that the two items are just a way to charge another cost. The flop down sides are next to impossible to close with any significant amount of items in the units. The bungee straps to hold your item from falling when opening on work on large items and have the most ridiculously complicated method of latching. After installation the turn signals must be relocated, which is a complicated process of disassembly and “jerry rigged” into the new location. The indention where the latch and handles are located pool water when it rains and gets the contend wet when opening. Btw a size lg, full face helmet doesn’t fit. I turned my very sleek attention grabbing sports bike into an old guys touring bike. If you purchase this item my only advice is to start the install with the frame that goes under the seat. You’ll have to redo everything if you don’t.
    Safe riding.
