    It works.

They work. A bit expensive for what they are, but I used twisted points to get them.

    Great idea, terrible execution

Bought these for my SW-Motech top-box on my Honda CB500F. I thought, great, these’ll keep the lid from flying back when I open it.

Nope. Simple enough to install, though the flanged washers are a bit of a nightmare to push far enough onto the plastic post. Not five days into using these, though, the wires snapped out of the pucks holding them. First the left side, then the following day the right side.

To boot, they barely stay the lid – without them, the lid holds itself open just fine another few degrees back. Definitely would not buy again. Probably wouldn’t even install them if they were free, or included.
