    Good light, poor construction

    Mike

These are great for adding that extra light to the rear of the bike, something that grabs the attention of the cagers behind you. The issue with these lights is the poor construction of the light. Water gets into the lens cover. I was seeing condensation after some time and then, recently, the cover had split away from the frame (which I never realized) and as I was washing the bike water entered the LED’s and ruined my light. For the cost of this light, one would hope it would withstand a little water…it doesn’t. I will buy another one because the extra light is great but it’s too bad they aren’t built, “better”.

R1250RT, 2019, does the 8 ” light bar work. ? Can you wire it into rear light package. Or does it plug into the auxiliary plug socket?

had isues with construction as well, we put one on a 2020 suzuki v-strom, out of the box, i unscrewed the aluminum bracket from the light? and the side of the light where the screw goes in cracked off, had to reglue it wtih plastic weld, also noticed a crack underneath where the screw mounted into the bracket, used liquid electrical tape to seal it…..just wondering as time passes how these lights will hold up.
