Description
The GIVI AF3115 Airflow windscreen for the Suzuki Burgman 400 is a direct bolt-on upgrade over the original factory unit offering height adjustment and improved levels of comfort. Designed & engineered in Italy from durable polycarbonate for superior strength and optical clarity. This accommodating windscreen is equipped with easy to use levers that allow the upper portion of the screen to slide up or down to your liking. Move the windshield up at highway speeds for improved aerodynamics and reduced turbulence or slide it down for greater clearance when standing up off-road. Maximum height 77cm / 30.3″ (12cm / 4.7″ of extension) width 67cm / 26.3″. Permanent modifications are not necessary for fitment. Installed on a 2018 Burgman 400.
Installation went fairly well.
Pros: There was a huge decrease in wind buffeting. With the stock windscreen, the wind was hitting me squarely in the helmet. In that respect, I love it! It is what I had hoped for.
Cons:
1. The handlebars hit the windscreen at a full turn. When turning to the right, the windscreen also hits the Ram mount for my cell phone.
2. The curvature of the windscreen creates a large amount of distortion. Looking through it, it makes it difficult to assess problems in the road surface (pot holes, other imperfections in the surface due to freeze/thaw cycles.)
Not sure what I’m going to do. A rat tail file may take care of the turning issue. a slight relocation of the Ram mount may fix that problem. But I have to decide what to do about the distortion issue. And maybe that is just a matter of lowering the screen so I can look just over the top without being buffeted by the wind.
