    Works Great

    Jim

I just installed this cruise control on my 2015 Yamaha FZ-09. It appears to be very high quality material and construction, was easy to install and works very well. Just remove the allen bolt and bar weight on the end of the throttle grip and replace it with the Kaoko control and bolt. My only disappointment is that it’s located on the outside end of the grip, so must be rotated with the outside of the palm instead of thumb and index finger. This feels slightly awkward, but it works fine. The last cruise control I used was a Throttlemeister on a previous cycle. It blended in better, looking like a bar end weight, but was harder to turn and set. In fact, I had rigid hand guards that covered 50% of the outside end of the cruise control, so I had to drill and tap and install a protruding knob to be able to rotate it. If I had to do it all over again, I’d go with the Throttlemeisters with machined grooves for gripping and turning. That really would work perfect. Kaoko is still a great choice if you want a larger, more controllable unit. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending it.
