Georgia Riding Adventures –
I purchased this throttle lock after using the Brake Away brand on my cruisers for several years. I wasn’t sure how much I would like it as it functions in a completely different manner than what I was used to.
I installed the Kaoko on my 2014 triumph Tiger 800 XC. I have the original OEM handguards on my bike, so there was no issue with fitment. Installation took about 15 minutes, and was very simple. I won’t say it looks original on the bike, but it is not very noticeable unless you were looking for it.
I ride daily, and I have made a few short tours since I purchased the Kaoko. I must say I am very pleased with the function of the device, and the look. It performs well, and it is easy to use. The only negative thing I have found is that there is no “quick release” for the device. You roll it toward you to lock the throttle, and you roll it away from you to unlock the throttle. This works fine, and I’ve had no problems at all with it. Also, you can still roll on and off the throttle while the device is engaged.
I give the device four stars, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone with a sport/adventure/naked style bike. If you are a cruiser rider I would recommend the Brake Away device as it automatically releases with the brake handle or the press of the release button.
