Ralph –
I have these on two of my motorcycles right now. It’s a solidly made, well designed device. The only downside is that it is a bit pricey to me. ($144). But they work, and very well. It takes a bit of getting used to, it’s not intuitive, but once you get used to how to set it, it becomes second nature. The price still gets me. But there’s nothing else out there like it. At $75 it would be right. Still, it’s a very nicely designed piece. I like it a lot.

This throttle lock works and, with a lot of work, looks factory. However, the slip disk needed sanding to remove a plastic burr on the slip surface. Also, my OEM bar ends are semi-black but these are flat so I had to paint them. When I cleaned the ber end body with 70% alcohol, the flat paint started stripping off. Finally, they printed there brand name on the thrust nut which is tacky but I was painting it anyway.
Overall, for $140 I expected perfection but got a cheap finish with imperfections in the molding. That said, once I finished fixing it, this throttle lock works and looks factory.

Tundra –
Easy peasy install, 15 minutes including moving bike out and gathering tools and putting everything away. This functions better than the ThrottleMeister as well as every other brand I’ve tried over the years. This looks great and functions well for what it is “Throttle lock” not a cruise control which I here many refer to it as. The quality is superb and I recommend the heavy model with the factory matching bar end weight for the GTR1400 (Concours) I don’t want cruise on a motorcycle, just some throttle hand relief occasionally and this fits the bill for me!! If I wanted cruise control I’d take my truck:} This looks factory and works, not as some cheap bolt on product.

This is exactly as advertised…easy install, easy operation, bar end weight matches my original on my Connie weight. My throttle is rarely in the same position very long. I ride hard all day when I have the opportunity. I use mine to relax a bit while heading home from all day rides. I liked the looks and finish of the Throttle Meister better, but they are out of business. This actually works better being easier to activate with gloves. A little pricey for what it is, but it works well and the decision to pay the price was mine. 100% satisfied with this product and the customer service. My first order arrived with stripped threads, return/exchange was processed easily.

Easy install. Works great. Second bike I’ve put one on. Really helps with a tired wrist on the long ride.

The unit was a bit pricey but having done a number of long trips worth every penny. It took a couple of trips to learn to partialy set the unit but now is very easy and comfortable. I would recommend this product to anyone doing long trips as it enables you to rest your right hand.

08 KLR 650. Normally I’m not a fan of marketing emails, but this was just good timing: A few days before leaving for a multi-day trip I got an email from TwistedThrottle about these throttle locks and I took a chance and had one sent express so it would arrive before I left. I agree that these are *way* too expensive, but as long as I don’t have to buy another one (for this bike) for the next ten years or so, I’ll accept the cost. Installation was simple of course. It really was a lifesaver (although I had it locked on at one point, and I was stretching my arm and elbow, and, just as you would expect based on Murphy’s Law, a deer appeared *right* in front of me, so it almost became just the opposite of a lifesaver, but of course that would have been my fault for not being aware of everything at all times and not having both hands on the bars – Don’t Do What Donny Don’t Does…). Anyone who’s been on those long rides with your hand, fingers, elbow, and arm tingling and just wishing you could flex your fingers and shake some of that buzz out even for a minute or two (without having to pull over constantly) knows how valuable something like this could be – and for me it really was. To maintain a constant speed over hills, I did need to adjust it, but I fully expected that. It does take a little practice to get used to applying it and rolling it off, but that’s also expected (although at least for safety/emergency purposes, if not functionality in general, I agree with RKK). If I can replenish my savings account to the point where I can afford another one of these apparently gold-plated pieces of hardware, I will definitely get one for my other bike too.

I bought the kaoko throttle lock for my 1997 Kawasaki concours
We were leaving on a bike trip in a couple of days so I ordered it overnight
There it was the next day and took about 3 1/2 minutes to install
Works great and gives my throttle hand the rest it needs on a long tour

Went for a ride on the weekend and tested it out! Just like anything new, it took a few times to get the feel of it, but it works like a charm! From a price point, it should be in the $100 range, but overall I’m very satisfied!

Works well with easy to understand instructions. A little overpriced. Had to call them with a installation question which they answered.

The throttle lock is made very well but there is no way this should be over $50. Its a left handed thread nut on an oem style bar end, just make one in your garage and save $130. It does take a lot of time to get it set right and takes practice to set it while driving but giving your hand a break is worth it. Installation is one bolt. I’ m giving it a “poor” rating because of price, not easy to use, and price again. * may give check engine light at highway speeds

All:
Ordered this from “the Throttle” based on a friends recommendation. Great little device , slightly cheaper than a throttlemeister, and easy to install (keeping the heated grips as promised). Just think this is a touch high priced, maybe 80 or 90 would seem more realistic. But hey , it works and I’d buy it again. Twisted Throttle folks are great.

Does what it said it would do. Easy to fit and operation is as expected. It is well made and the fitting instructions are clear and easy to follow, fit it and make sure it is not binding before you finally cement the bolt. I like it!

It does work, but it takes to much fiddling with the adjustment every time you want to engage it and for it to hold first time, and twisting off is too slow a motion for decelerating in an emergency. I simple old school thumb locks work better.

I am one of those riders who is not anywhere close to a mechanic. I take my bike to the shop for anything past an oil change. This product was super easy to install and it works great. Very simple to use and I wish I had bought it sooner.

Great product. while installing, i had a slight problem because i had Oxford Heaterz on the bike and not being a mechanic, i called Twisted Throttle for tech support and they told me i needed to move the throttle assembly in a bit in order for the install to work. i did so and in about 5 mins. i was ready to ride. the throttle lock worked flawlessly on a 12 mile stretch of highway with some slight rises and down hill sections. never need to re-adjust. great product, easy install and easy operation.
