pricey, but well made and functional

This is the second Kaoko throttle lock I have purchased, the other one was for my Buell Ulysses. I have heated grips on the Moto Guzzi, so I had to trim a little off the end of the grip to get the fit right, but otherwise it was a quick and easy project. This is a throttle lock, not a cruise control, so you have to pay attention to the setting. As per the instructions, tighten it just enough to hold the throttle setting, but loose enough to be able to easily roll off the throttle. I like this better than the other type of throttle lock that clamps the grip, because it doesn’t take up any grip space and is unobtrusive.

    creative thinking installation

Just got around to installing the Kaoko throttle lock. This was not a simple straight forward install. I have now discovered review where he cut off a bit of the grip end to get it to work with his Guzzi heated grips.. I chose a slightly different path for the install. The heated grips extend over the bars so that the Kaoko spacing is too short. I measured it all and with a pipe cutter made a 4mm thick collar/spacer out of 7/8 aluminum tubing. This puts the spacing just about perfect. The supplied black plastic gripper spacer just doesn’t work in heated grip applications. I did find at a Ace Hardware a nylon/plastic flat washer in the correct dimensions that performed the task of the grip spacer . It is done and works great. Kaoko needs to go back to the drawing board and design a throttle lock for the heated grips.
