MFW Vario Footpeg System Guide

The MFW Vario Footpeg System helps motorcycle riders and passengers find the most ergonomic riding position by offering adjustable footpeg positions. This is done with various length Vario extension arms that provide 8 possible rotational positions in a 360 degree radius. The complete system is made up of 3 pairs of parts: the motorcycle specific Vario Footpeg Mounts for either rider or passenger positions the adjustable Vario Extension Arms and the Footpegs themselves. Unless you are replacing a component or adding to an existing system you will need to order all three parts for this to work on your motorcycle. Here is a quick rundown of the components you will need to choose from.

Motorcycle Specific Vario Rider or Passenger Footpeg Mounts are model and rider or passenger specific. Please be sure that the mounts you are looking at fit your make model year and rider or pillion position.

Adjustable Vario Extension Arms are available in black or silver finish and come in 23mm (0.90in) 30mm (1.18in) 50mm (1.96in) as well as a 6 position adjustable 25-50mm (0.98-1.96in) length extension arm set. Notches provide positive rotaional positioning in 8 different locations over a 360 degree radius. Due to potential clearance issues the 50mm and the adjustable 25-50mm extension arms are suitable for passenger use only.

MFW Footpegs are available in various styles to match your taste as riding style as well as your choice of black or silver finish.

  • MFW MasterSafe Stash Footpegs  incorporate a hidden compartment and a special key that allows secret storage of small items or documents. These pegs measure 4in long. Due to thier length they are recommended for passenger use only.
  • MFW Master Grip Footpegs are CMC machined with pronounced ribs and knurled contact points to enhance grip. They measure 3.25in long.
  • MFW Racing Footpegs measure 3.25in long and are CNC machined with knurled surfaces for grip and a slanted design to improve clearance.
  • MFW Super Grip Footpegs measure 3.25in long and feature vulcanized rubber padding for extra comfort and grip.

Made the bike much more comfortable. Already had the bar risers and this gave my legs the extra room I needed. Easy to install and fit great.

    MFW on M1100s

    Hoodis

I was looking for a little more legroom om my Monster. I wish there were more “slots” of adjustment available. I guess that would make the pegs a little less solid.

    Could be improved

    beemerdave

Great fit and finish. Easy to install. I’m not crazy about the round pegs. Wish they has more tradional GS style pegs or the ability to use the OEM ones.

    Brilliant product

    Markscura

This is the second set of vario foot pegs I have bought for both my motoguzzis. Its great to buy a item that actually does what it is supposed to do ie give you better comfort and full adjustment. They are also very well made. I would definitely recommend them.

  10. Basquard

Quality product but can alter foot positioning

    Basquard

Bought MFW Vario extensions to lower the foot pegs on my 2013 Triumph Triple Speed (the English must have short legs) so my knees would not hurt. Seemed to be highly reviewed and a quality product. The items arrived “as stated” after a quick shipping process. I watched the installation video several times and the pegs were easy to install (15 minutes including putting away the tools). The thing I was not prepared for was how the pegs cause your feet to be further out from the foot controls. Now I have to rotate my foot inward to shift and brake. Not the worst thing but certainly not as ergonomic as I would have hoped. The design is such so that there seems to be no way to shift the pegs closer to the frame so I either have to go back to stock (not likely), find another peg lowering system (doesn’t seem to be many options for my bike) or get used to the pegs (my best option). I would say that they are highly adjustable and look/feel great.

    Tom

This looked to be the most adjustable footpeg set that I’d seen online, and the range of options/settings and quality-build make it a great ergonomic improvement on my still-new-to-me R1100R!

  12. SoloBike

    It works.

    SoloBike

Personally I love this lowering kit which helps my weak left knee tremendously. However the only drawback is that it takes few hundreds miles to get used to the new position in shifting gears. Love it very much.

  13. Kirk

    They work well for me.

    Kirk

I’m a 50 something tall guy, and these work great on my 2012 Speed Triple. They add just enough space to actually make a difference on these old knees, so I can ride longer in relative comfort. So far I’ve never scraped the pegs in a corner, but I’m not really a rider that can drag my knee, anyway. Don’t get me wrong, I do ride it in a spirited manner, and I like to hit the corners hard, so I would say these extenders are not TOO low for aggressive street riding. I was able to adjust my shift and brake pedals down a bit to match the new, lower pegs. They are high-quality, and easily support my 220 pounds (plus riding gear) when I stand on them. My one complaint (not a major one) is that your legs have to sit out in a little bit wider stance from their original position, therefore your toe has to point in a little to shift or brake.

    Just what the Doctor ordered....

    Bob

Purchased about 3 weeks ago, installed them {very easy} and took it out for a test ride. Tried 2 different settings, both of which resulted in a MUCH better seat-to-peg relationship. Recommend them highly!!
