RAM Mounts System Guide
RAM Mounts is a rugged and versatile system for attaching and mounting phones tablets GPS units cameras and other mobile devices nearly anywhere. This system utilizes ball and socket connections that can be adjusted to provide a multitude of mounting positions and secured to provide stability during use. Once you have selected the universal grip or device specific cradle you are interested in you will need to select an Adapter Plate a Double Socket Arm and then a Mounting Base to attach to your motorcycle.Adapter PlatesAdapter plates are availaible in chrome or black mount to device cradles and provide a B size 1in rubber ball for an arm extension to attach to and articlate from. They have predrilled holes that match the industry standard AMPS hole pattern.
Double Socket Arms
Double Socket Arms attach between Adapter Plates and Mounting Bases to provide full articulation and can be tightened to a multitude of secured positions.
Mounting Bases
Mounting Bases attach to your motorcycle and provide a secure platform for the RAM system to work from. Attachment points include handlebars control clamps clutch and brake reservoirs fork stems suction cups mirror mounts as well as exposed or replaceable bolts.

I bought this product over a year ago for mounting on my BMW F650GS Dakar. I did a 4,500 mile ride, including several hundred miles of graded dirt roads, forest service roads, mountain passes, and complete absence of roads.
My phone, a Samsung Galaxy SIII, never came loose once. I rode the Ophir Pass between Silverton and Telluride in CO, dropping the bike once. Cell phone stayed put. I crossed the Big Horn mountains on forest service roads, between Sheridan and Ten Sleep in WY, some pretty rough conditions. The phone stayed in place without moving at all. Cottonwood Canyon ride in UT – no problem.
I had my doubts about the product before the ride, but after completing it, I am very happy with the performance of this product.
Easy to mount with the u-clamp and two inch RAM arm. I would definitely recommend it.

I bought this about 6 mos ago and it has popped several times. My bad that I didn’t change it out before it “Popped” out on the freeway! Phone is toast as is the otterbox case I had it in. So far it’s cost me $345 for the phone, $50 for the Case and hopefully I’m getting a new holder for free.

I’m very skeptical about RamMounts Warranty. They denied my claim and said it was a bootleg copy. It was an Xgrip and the rubber ball came apart. I sent them pictures and they wanted a receipt and where I purchased it. After 5yrs or so, who could remember. If it was a bootleg copy, it’s not my fault. If you buy it from a dealer that specializes in RamMount I can’t screen all their parts and accessories. They should have covered it just for good PR!
