Description

The future of power management……… is here.

The old methods of power distribution have gone the way of the floppy disk (remember those?).

No more checking or replacing fuses or installing relays for powering high amperage electronics.

The PDM60 Power Distribution Module has 6 power circuits making it easy to handle all your gadgets and farkles. The bright LED indicators keep you informed of the status of each circuit.

The PDM60:

  • Makes adding or removing aftermarket electrical devices / electronics (farkles) to your bike a breeze.
  • Is simple to install and simple to use.
  • Connects directly to the battery on your bike.
  • Has 6 power circuits to handle all your farkle needs.
  • Has bright LED indicators to keep you informed of the status of each circuit.
  • Eliminates the need to check or replace fuses.
  • Eliminates the need to install relays for powering high amperage electronics.

The PDM60 has been built with components selected for superior power management capability and extended service life. It’s designed with one goal in mind: to provide years and years of superior hassle free performance. The PDM60 unit is fully encapsulated to protect against rain dust humidity etc. Whether it’s off-road or cross-country via interstate these units are built to last under the harshest of conditions..

Physical dimensions: 2”H x 3”W x .9”D; about the size of a business card and less than an inch thick

6 indicator lights: The LEDs indicate the condition of the circuit.

  • GREEN you’re good.
  • ORANGE it’s an inactive or unused circuit or has been interrupted due to an intermittent fault condition.
  • RED you have an existing fault on the circuit and the power has been interrupted.

Connecting to the unit: The PDM60 comes with a Posi-Lock connector for each circuit and the ground trigger. There’s also a Posi-Tap for connecting the ignition trigger wire. There’s one lead per circuit two trigger wires and the main power and ground leads. This makes the installation of the PDM60 a breeze and allows for custom fitting the unit to your vehicle. Compact & easy.
A fuse in the power wire is not required and would yield no additional benefit. The PDM60 is essentially a self monitoring digital fuse/breaker itself. The PDM60 has 60 Amps of power handling capability. Load it up.

For items requiring more than 15Amps: A 20A capable circuit (circuit #5) can be used to power intermittent applications like Stebel horns etc. The 20A
circuit is recommended for intermittent use only. If 20A is not enough you can also run parallel circuits. You utilize two (or three) of the circuits (i.e. two 15A circuits=30A) to power your device. You just connect multiple circuit leads to your device power lead ground your device to the frame or other suitable ground point and you’re up and running fully protected. Keep in mind that any load will be split equally among the circuits used so each of the circuits used must be able to its portion of the total load. i.e. two circuits 50% of total load each.

CAN type electrical systems: The unit is completely CAN type system compatible.

Programmable: The PDM60 is fully programmable. The dashboard software (free download) allows you to configure individual circuit behavior with a Windows compatible PC with .NET Framework 4 installed. There are 8 different triggering mode options for each circuit and you can set delay activation / and delay off time periods as well as individual circuit current limits. Configuration changes are a breeze to set up. The dashboard is easy to install and easy to use. You can update/change your settings whenever you want.

Special Note: To program the PDM60 a Windows compabitle PC with .NET Framework 4 installed is required.

    Easy to Install and Program

I thought this was an overkill purchase for my bike, a 2012 Concours14 ABS, but while I was moving all my stuff from my old Connie to the new Connie I wanted to better organize the power distribution system. Denali DRs, Stebel Horn, Back Off Light Modulator, and any other future additions- more lighting, LED accents, heating things, Radar Detector, etc. The PDM60 makes organizing the circuits, identifying their power draw, etc. very simple. Two features stand out – 1) Not having to place fuse holders everywhere, 2) The programming interface using the supplied USB to PDM Dongle was about as easy as anything I have ever used of its kind. Finally, after reading the Manual, I found that I could also double or triple a circuit if I needed to handle a very high draw accessory like maybe wiring in two Stebel horns or something. The PDM60 makes it easy to get a neat and professional looking wiring setup. Highly recommended!

Reliability, Environmentally Sealed, and NO Fuses!

After reading several reviews of Rowe Electronics PDM60, I decided to make the investment. Price is upscale and so are the features. You get what you pay for and I am impressed! I have tested the accessories that I have wired through the PDM60 power distribution module in extreme weather of subfreezing temperatures as low as 8 degrees F over the road, far from home, and far away from civilization and the economy. The PDM60 module did not fail however when it gets that cold some electrical and electronic accessories fail to work properly, but not the PDM60. I have a high current dual tone air horn (Denali Soundbomb) Sergeant heated seat and a power accessory that I connect all electronic gadgets to–smartphone, Garmin GPS, and other accessories like an air compressor. The PDM60 handles it all.

The PDM60 power distribution module is an excellent product that I have personally tested in extreme wet and cold environments. I have ridden through 4 consecutive days of rain during storms so bad that I had to pull off the road until the weather cell passed. The PDM60 performed consistently without error and was never a concern during times of weather extremes. I am super impressed with the PDM60 power distribution module. Installation instructions are thorough and provide a detailed explanation of how to install the PDM60 with confidence. The programming software interface via cable connected to PDM60 and computer rendering the programming dashboard is familiar and easy to follow.

All around a very well developed product. I recommend the PDM60.

    Great purchase!
Installation was pretty straight forward, programming was a snap and it works flawlessly.
I would definitely have made this purchase again given the opportunity to do it over again. Great addition if you are adding any accessories to your bike and don’t like messy wiring.

    Great product

Bought it for my Suzuki Vstrom 650. Hooked up my two 12 v plugs and it allowed me to set proper amperage to use my portable air compressor – needed 15 amps. Also connected my heated grips and GPS. Love it!

    Awesome and Easy

    Zboatman

I purchased this to install on my Versys 1000 as I was going beyond my Admore Light and needed to put on a Garmin GPS, Denali D1 lights. It was easy to install and has worked flawlessly since the install. It was easy to program via the App and the instruction were clear and simple to follow. I would recommend this product for anyone installing multiple electronic gadgets on their machine.

    Well engineered

    Slugo65

I bought and installed this on my Super Tenere right before a cross country road trip. This unit works exactly as described and allows you to program circuits for various loads and means of activation as needed. The reason I chose this particular unit was the fact that it features a dedicated 20 amp circuit that is perfect for running my stebel airhorn. The unit is impervious to moisture , dirt/ road filth and can handle complete immersion in water. The directions are simple and straightforward. The wires are labeled making connections simple if you follow the directions. In order to program the unit you will need a pc so be sure that whatever computer you use is windows compatible. I run an airhorn, heated seat, a circuit that powers my tank bag/ cellphone and GPS and that still leaves me with 3 circuits and 25 amps of juice for other stuff like heated gear and auxillary lights. I never have had any issues and the unit works as advertised.

    Nice small unit.

    Andyks

Works as described. Fits in a tight place. Allowed me to tidy up the wires and get rid of old fashioned in line fuses.
