Description
The “Double-Bubble” racing screen from MRA will help riders “tuck in” behind their bike’s screen to increase top speeds. Instead of creating lift it pulls the front of the bike onto the road.
MRA motorcycle screens are manufactured from a unique and specially developed material – used by no other screen manufacturer.
- Shock resistant and shatterproof
- Rigid
- UV resistant to avoid clouding
- Resistant to most chemicals including Petroleum/Gasoline
- Aerodynamic design for improved airflow
- Reduces drag
- Enhances bike appearance
- Black gradient finish at front base of screen to conceal and protect rear of instrument panel from strong sunlight (where applicable)
- Air intake slits – eliminates turbulence & reduce the vacuum effect (where applicable)
Overall length: 15.9 inches (405 mm).
In 1994 MRA introduced the first double bubble racing screen at the IMFA international motorcycle trade fair in Cologne Germany. The latest generation of MRA RacingScreens includes a revolutionary dome design that is flattened at the top. Instead of creating lift this new design pushes the front of the bike down onto the road a more desirable effect when racing!
Customer Commets:Several windshield options available for this bike but I hate that it can be such a crapshoot-expensive-trial-and-error exercise. I spent a bunch of time reading reviews and posting questions to help identify which particular windscreen would work best for someone of my height (511″). Finally decided on the MRA DB Racing shield. Given that you dont really look through this shield to see I went ahead and ordered the smoke/tinted version. As an added bonus with the windshield installed looks like the tinted version will also provide better visibility for the instrument cluster. I havent had a chance to ride with the new shield but will report back when I have.
After Evaluative Riding:
I had noticed that with the stock shield the wind moves over the shield and down to ward the back of the tank leaving my upper body in open air.
Installed the shield yesterday and rode in to work this morning – 26 mile commute approx 20 freeway miles. Wind now hits the top of my shoulders (upper body protected) – head in open air.
Seemed like there was less wind noise also. Fairly easy to tuck behind and I like the improved visibility of the gauges.
Happy with the improvement 😀
