    Good bracket. Junk light.

The R&G tail tidy was easier to buy from Canada than another, better known option. Staff at Twisted Throttle in Canada are pros so I took a chance on this. Far from satisfied. The bracket itself is well made (the only reason I’m giving any stars) but the light itself has a lot of room for improvement…

    1. All started by dealing with terribly written instructions (poorly written in English, French and German).
    2. Next, The bolts on the light are too long to properly mount to the bracket. For the price I paid, I don’t think having to cut a bolt should be required.
    3. The wires are also VERY thin compared to OEM – and also too short to reach the OEM connector. I had to cut the OEM taillight wiring to extend the R&G wiring. Again – this shouldn’t be required. I now have an OEM taillight that I can’t sell.
    4. My biggest issue: The LED light quality is pretty bad. The cool white LEDs interfere with the red LEDs and produce a pink glow instead of an obvious red light. A red lens with a clear insert or simply, a warmer white LED would have solved this problem. The shape of the light does interface well with the bike but if the light provided is junk, that’s besides the point.

For the price, this should have been a very plug & play kind of installation and it wasn’t due to shortcomings with the LED light unit. Disappointing. And yeah, the Twisted Throttle Youtube video for this installation is unhelpful.

So I just installed my new R&G tail tidy, and I have to say i’m luke warm on this unit.
It looks night and day better than stock, the aluminum frame is high quality, but the light unit itself is not very robust. Cons, very thin wiring, “scotch connectors” suck, the mounts on the light are too long and interfere with the subframe and need trimming, and the instructions are TERRIBLE! Pros, very high quality frame, tail light is bright, and overall the tidy looks much cleaner than the stock junk. Twisted Throttle your youtube video is garbage, no idea why you even made it.
