Description

All hardware needed to mount the centerstand included. Typically installs using basic hand tools. No welding cutting or drilling of existing frame or body parts required. Tough black powdercoated finish with some gray fittings or hardware as applicable. A double-retention spring is included as a safety feature to prevent the centerstand from contacting pavement if one of the two springs should fail during a ride. Designed to work with OEM components — we cannot assure fit with aftermarket exhausts or other accessories. Total weight about 8 lbs.

Note: outer retention spring has 17 coils and is approximately 60mm long (excluding hooks).

Special Note: We do not recommend installing centerstands on bikes with a lowered rear suspension because use on a lowered bike may result in:

  • Ground clearance & cornering clearance problems
  • Difficulty in lifting the lowered bike onto the centerstand

SW Motech center stand for Suzuki DL1000 V-strom

Great product, well made; mild sticker shock. Directions (diagrams) were a bit too simple, but once I figured out the spacers, it all fit fine. Easy enough to put the bike on the center stand. Once up, it’s stable.

Installed easily and works well. Could be heavier

I bought this for a 2008 DL1000. It installed easily and works well but I wish it was heavier/thicker gauge and bigger feet. I have not compared Suzuki’s own OEM Vstrom Dl1000 stand but compared to the center stand for my old 1980 Suzuki GS1100E it is a not nearly as robust. As some have mentioned in forums, you want to be mindful not to try to twist/re-point the bikewhile on the stand, which I did all the time with my GS1100E. That said, I do not expeirence the also common reported problem of the bike being too easy to push off the center stand and possibly falling. That said, I like to keep the front brake locked down while working on the bike. Rating it a little lower for value as i think this is way overpriced. Should be about $125, IMO, as should any center stand.

    solid and easy

    AO5599

I purchased this two years ago and have been delighted with it. However, during the installation I did not put a heavy-enough grease on the hinge lugs and so had to disassemble the unit (today) so I can grease it appropriately. Don’t make the same mistake! The condition of the CS after 2 years is excellent. Paint has peeled off a fair bit but the steel shows only mild surface rust, so I’m going to sand it down and repaint it, but overall this is an excellent unit.
