I’ve had mine on for about a year, around 10,000km. It does the job its intended to do but if you ride off road at all you’ll get annoyed with it. It weighs about 10lbs and constantly bangs down on the ground when hitting bumps. It also isn’t very stable when deployed. Even my mechanic commented on how it feels like it wants to drop off, I always chocked the front wheel just in case. And also all these people saying it was well build must be high, a 12 year old could have designed it, the side stand and lever arm interfere with each other…

I bought this stand because of the fear that I had to repair a front wheel flat during rides. Afterward though, I realize that it made everything else much easier when working on the bike ( ex: no more stick under the passenger foot rest to lube the chain, no more milk box to straighten and lift the bike when working on the engine etc.) I would have give it five stars if the stand was just a little bit more solid when deployed. Don’t get me wrong, it’s plenty solid for general job. I use a binder attach to the stand and the front wheel for longer jobs. Still wondering why I waited so long!

This KLR stand is fantastic. The installation was very easy as long as you have a second pair of hands to hold the bike upright. The stand is very secure and stable when unfolded and doesn’t rattle around when up. I feel confident in it’s build that I ride right off the stand without putting my feet down. It is also easy to stand the bike up from being on the side stand. Also don’t bother buying the $50 hand grip, the passenger handles work fine

This is the first mod I made to the Klr and the most practical. Went on no problems! Makes it easy to check fluids and change tires. Made it super easy to install saw motech crash bars . While up on the center stand you just shim the back tire and you get no drop when removing sub frame bolts. Very useful addition. I love it. Would definetly recommend.

Center stand does its job on the KLR650, including making emergency trail repairs much easier. Recomendations: need a longer swing arm welded to the side, to give more foot leverage when extending stand; stand should angle 2 or 3 degrees more forward when extended, so it won’t easily pop back up letting bike fall over; definitely need hard rubber grommet mounted between center of stand and bike frame to 1) give more chain clearance when retracted and 2) avoid metal to metal contact on frame.

Installation is easy, but it is difficult to engage the stand. There is no peg for a boot, so you can’t easily push the stand down with your boot. It is almost as if it is missing a piece that other center stands have

Easy Instal With crashbars. Make sure you put the bracket on the inside then bar then footrest. I Got 40mm bolts as i saw posted here. Thx. No need for special tool, screwdriver worked fine. It rubbed a bit on left swing arm but after a few lifts it setteled nicely. Wondering if it will rattle on tge rough roads.

Easy to install, lever is a little hard to get to though. Better have good shoes on when using. Should come with handle to assist without having to buy it

I got this installed in under 20 minutes, super easy, works great, just pay attention to bolt length, the long ones go on the right side. And for some reason I got two springs, one big one little, I only used the big one, not sure if I was supposed to use both.

Easy install. I’m not sure why I waited this long to buy one! Makes working on my 2010 KLR 650 that much easier.

The stand is very easy to install. The negatives are not major but worth mentioning. The footpeg is too small and hard to get your foot on. If the KLR was heavy, this could be a major issue. Once the bike is on the centre stand, it feels a bit less planted than it should – easily moving off the centre stand.

Sw motech center stand was easy to install. Everything went together pretty easy nothing was complicated. The main spring that retracts the center stand took me 10 minutes to get on. That was the only challenge out of the while installation.

Just installed this, simple and easy installation. You don’t have to buy the expensive spring tool. I used a phillip’s head screw-driver, put the hook of the spring on the shaft, then put the tip on the knob that holds the spring and applied rearward pressure until the spring slid across the shaft onto the spring retention knob. The spring took 5 seconds. I do recommend the lifting handle. As you all know the KLR is a heavy bike. I have to stand with my right foot on the stand, right hand on the lifting handle and left hand on the cross-bar between handle-bars and lift back and rear.

Easy to install and I recommend purchasing the tool that helps with putting the springs on–it will save you some aggravation.
The stand is very sturdy but it does take some effort to pull your bike up on to it. You will have to ensure each time that the center stand and kick stand are retracted in the right order each time. Overall–great stand!

I installed the CenterStand in about 45 minutes, the pictures made it very easy to install. I have been using it and while parking I get attention from other riders.

Just what I needed to get this beast’s rear wheel of the ground so I can lube the chain.
Very easy install and pretty much invisible, great product as I think there was definitely some good engineering involved in fitting this to the KLR650 (mine is a 2015)

I found that this product was very easy to install, maybe 20 minutes. I have no issues with cornering at all, the center stand has more clearance on turns than the side stand. I love how easy it is to adjust and lube the chain. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.

Very easy to install even if the plan is not good (the spring position for example).
Good choice but the foot lever arm is very difficult to catch with the foot, not a lot of place to put the motorbike shoe! It is not long enough! This centerstand isn’t too heavy, it’s nice! Don’t forget to fix all the screws with some glu like Loctite because of vibrations in off road trips; the price is honest and the product seems to be of good quality.

So far so good, it’s been on the 2014 KLR 650 for a couple weeks and use it more than the side stand, very stable. Installation instructions didn’t mention it, but both long bolts go on the same side/left side of the bike. I used an old automotive brake spring tool to install the spring. Took about 20 minutes to install.

This is a great product! It is well made, has a great finish and was easy to install. The instructions were easy to follow, and the center stand works extremely well for my 2008 KLR 650.

I was impressed with the construction quality, fit and finish of this center stand. The only challenge was attaching the springs without the custom tool for this purpose. I used a screwdriver and after a few attempts, succeeded in my effort. Probably took an extra 5 minutes.

Easy to install and rugged without losing much ground clearance. Since I also have old Motech crash bars through the foot peg bolts I bought stainless steel 40mm bolts in place of the supplied bolts.

Installation on my 2014 KLR 650 was easy and straight forward. Functional as advertised and excellent product workmanship. 4 stars only because you need to partially release side stand to completely retract the center stand.
