Description

All hardware needed to mount the centerstand included. Typically installs using basic hand tools. No welding cutting or drilling of existing frame or body parts required. Tough black powdercoated finish with some gray fittings or hardware as applicable. A double-retention spring is included as a safety feature to prevent the centerstand from contacting pavement if one of the two springs should fail during a ride. Designed to work with OEM components — we cannot assure fit with aftermarket exhausts or other accessories.

Special Note: We do not recommend installing centerstands on bikes with a lowered rear suspension because use on a lowered bike may result in:

  • Ground clearance & cornering clearance problems
  • Difficulty in lifting the lowered bike onto the centerstand

Invaluable accessory but difficult to install

    Russ

I bought this immediately after I bought my 2017 Speed Triple S. I’ve had two other Speed Triples, both 2007s, and I put centerstands on them as well. The centerstand for my 2017 S3 was far more difficult to install vs. the ones on my previous S3s.

First you have to raise the bike up off the ground without any tension on the swingarm/wheel in order to install the stand. I took a tip from another site and lifted the rear tire off the ground with a rear stand, then I flipped my rider pegs and put jack stands underneath them with shop towels to protect them. After extending my jack stands as high as they would go and locked them under the pegs, I slowly lowered my rear wheel which was left about an inch in the air. Surprisingly, this worked very well and the bike was rock solid during the entire centerstand install which took me the better part of a day to do. What also helped me is to put all the hardware on the parts diagram so you don’t get anything put in the wrong place.

There just isn’t any room under the bike to get your hands AND tools in to start bolts and then tighten them to the required torque. And when you remove the bolt directly forward of the rear shock, the rear wheel sags down and touches the ground. In order to reinstall this bolt after the centerstand hardware is in place, you need to lift up the rear wheel slightly for alignment. I used my breaker bar for a lever and put in under the rear wheel and lifted up just a bit; this worked great!

With lots of determination, patience, and a beer or two, I finally got is successfully installed. I’m a big believer in centerstands and this one is well-made and robust; but installation might test your mechanical aptitude (mine of which is on the lower end the range – LOL).

    Works GREAT!

Bought this so I can service my Speed Triple while on longer trips. Not difficult to install–but a rear stand helps. A helper might be an added bonus. In any case-stand works GREAT-sorry I wanted so long to purchase and install!

    Centerstand for '13 Speed Triple

    Alan

Quality made part. Installation was straightforward, but difficult with one person. You will need some sort of jack or lift to get the rear wheel off the ground and the rear suspension extended. Thin, shorty box end wrenches help too. I’m happy with the stand, very easy to get the bike on the stand and makes maintenance on the wheel and sprocket a breeze,
