I recently purchased an SW Motech centre stand for my new DL650. Delivery from TwistedThrottle was excellent. The stand itself is a very high quality unit. Everything fits smoothly. The instructions were clear and straight forward. If you have a carpenters awl and a long thin screwdriver you can install the spring easily. Best of all the stand lifts the bike with very little effort.
I highly recommend this product.

Really well made including the springs. Makes parking the bike so much more stable; chain maintenance is now a breeze. I’ve lost almost no clearance under the VStrom and is compatible with most skid plates.

Just finished installing this stand on my wife’s 2012 V-strom. This is a well built piece of kit, excellent finish, quality hardware and far better than the stand that Suzuki offers for this bike. The instructions are well laid out and easy to follow. My wife’s bike has been lowered by 20 mm but even so it was effortless lifting her bike on the stand. Highly recommend.

Really love my SW-Motech Centerstand. Soooo easy to put the bike on the centerstand now. Not overly complicated to install either. On top of that, good service from the Twisted Throttle people.

Just layout the parts in numerical order like in the instructions. Pay attention to the thickness of the spacers and size of the washers.
After that it’s a breeze. Have some locktite ready as well as some grease.
This went on my new 2015, I have one on my 2004 that I installed 13 years ago and no issues.

Well engineered with clear instructions that made installation quite straightforward. The stand functions well, although the foot tang is difficult to get at with my size 12s. The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars was that it seems quite expensive for a centre stand (double what it cost to put one on my F6B), but others may have a different opinion on that. I didn’t purchase the special spring tool; it took one attempt and about 10 seconds to hook up the springs with a flat screwdriver.

No fidgeting. No mods necessary. It just went on exactly the way the instructions said it would. No special tools needed. Lots of folks will tell you you need a special spring tool – nonsense, just use a skinny screwdriver and it pops right on.
This was literally a 40 minute install taking my sweet time.

Easy install. Looks great on the bike. Looks like a factory centerstand.

Nicely engineered piece that raises the back tire off the ground with great balance. Makes it so easy to clean and lube the chain, and clean the back wheel without a jack. It would be difficult to jack the V-strom with the exhaust routing.

Ordered the SW-Motech stand from Twisted Throttle and it arrived in four days. The stand was packaged in enough bubble wrap to send a dozen eggs on a RTW trip, in other words, it was packaged extremely well. Cutting through all the wrap, and finally arrived at the stand, and what a beautiful site to behold. The stand looks like a work of art, all welds look perfect, very well designed, and the powder coat finish is flawless over every bit of it. It almost seems a shame to mount it under the bike where it will be subjected to all manor of abuse. Arranged all the parts, studied the directions, and got ready for the install. I found it helpful to watch the video on Twisted Throttle’s site a couple of times. The most difficult bolt is the top righthand side, so I started with this. Using a 1/4″ drive allen and extensions, as the video suggested, I had no problems. I got the stand mounted with no problems, and it was time to try it out. I have a V-Strom, and have it lowered 5/8 of an inch (I know, all the stands say not recommended for a lowered bike) but the bike went right up. The stand seems very heavy duty and strong, and I’m sure will last the life of the bike with no problems. And I’m still dragging the foot pegs before the stand hits the ground.

I bought this for my ’13 Suzuki DL 650 V Strom. Quick shipment. Wrapped and boxed to be bomb proof. It was a perfect fit. The instructions were not in english but the pictures provided exactly what you needed when you needed it. I suggest you read over the instructions before you start though. Pieces must fit by the order of the steps listed. Also, long T-handle metric allen’s are a plus. Took me 20 minutes total.
I searched several sites for a centerstand. I compared costs. This IS the best deal.

Installed on 2015 650 V-StromXT
This was not overly difficult to install. If you follow the instructions and have the proper tools, it should take about 20 minutes.
SW-Motech products are unquestionably expensive, but they are well made, and work as they should. You get what you pay for.
I would recommend this upgrade.

High quality among the center stands offered out there. Very well made and operates well. It took about 30 minute to install. Nearly required for proper chain maintenance. I use a wax lube frequently and this makes it very easy.

Stand was on back order for about 2 weeks but I knew that when I ordered it. I bought this brand due to reviews and so glad I waited to get it. Had no problem with install. I did have to clean the threads out on bike due to having 6000 miles on it and they had dirt and chain crud in them. Stand is very well made and fits like a glove. Tucks up high when up. The brackets hang down about 1/4 inch below the skid plate I have. I don’t plan on slamming bike over logs and rocks so its not an issue for me. Stand holds bike very securely. I have clam shell style saddle bags and it is easier to put things in left bag with bike standing up straight. Stand will make chain maintenance much easier on longer trips. I did use a swing arm stand on spools at home but that was in the way a bit. Main stand is the ticket. You wont be disappointed.

Great add on to my V-Strom. Easy to install if you lay your parts out on the parts list provided. Probably took 30-45 mins. Did not need the spring tool, since a good screwdriver works well. The hardest part was learning how to get the bike up on the centerstand. Once you get the idea that you need to put all of your weight on the stand, the bike goes up on its own. Took a few times to figure it out. It made cleaning and tightening my chain so much easier. This should be stock on V-Stroms-come on Suzuki!

Purchased stand for a new ’14 V-strom 650. Stand was very well made and comes with clear instructions. A few tips to help out during installation:
1. Fine threaded bolts can get cross threaded easily- run bolt through hole before installation to clean out the threads.
2. Right side bracket tolerance for the two mounting holes is very tight, be careful during installation (see number 1 above, you may want to ream the holes out a little if you have problems getting the bolts started)
3. Upper Allen bolt on right side cannot be tightened using a normal Allen wrench. You will need a long ball head wrench to tighten the bolt. If you have a socket drive Allen bit you may be able to remove the bit and turn it with a regular crescent wrench.
4. The double spring is very stiff but you can easily install it with brake spring pliers.

I did a lot of internet research on center stands for my 2014 Suzuki Vstrom 650 and settled on the SW-Motech stand. The stand is top quality and the instructions are detailed and clear. You may want to read through them completely a couple of times before starting. It will also make the job easier if you CAREFULLY examine all the pieces and fasteners and sit each piece on its corresponding picture on the parts list. This way, as you go through the installation instructions, you can easily grab the EXACT piece you need, as there are several different fastener and sizes of spacers.Take your time and you will love the result. It is easy to get the bike up on the center stand, even for us older guys!

Why the vstrom doesnt come with a center stand is beyond me. This one was easy to install and works great. Twisted throttle was super fast in getting it to me. Next day for free. Really?

I bought this product after oiling my chain once without a stand of any kind. lots of rolling the bike around. I was seriously considering purchasing a track stand, but it seemed like it would take up more room in the garage and be more difficult to use by myself.
I only had one issue with installation (cross-threaded the forward/bottom bolt on shifter side behind the foot peg) not a lot of clearance for a socket allen. I would suggest starting the bolt with an allen key, and torquing it with the socket once it is fully in. I was able to to fix the issue by driving a shorter bolt from the other side to straighten the threads. This was in no way caused by the stand, but by the location of the predrilled hole on the Strom, and user ignorance.
The stand works perfectly and feels very secure. I was a bit apprehensive the first time I used it as I had never used a center stand before, but I watched a few videos and discovered that by pressing down on the stand and using the passenger foot peg as a handle to pull straight up on the bike pops up very nicely with little apparent effort.
Before purchasing this stand I was concerned about cornering clearance. I read somewhere that other stands require lengthening the left side peg feeler. I haven’t scrapped the pegs yet, but I like having that space just in case. There are no such issues with this stand. I don’t ride off road so i am not sure how it would affect ground clearance, but it doesn’t appear that it would cause any issues.
I am impressed by the quality of SW Motech parts and will certainly be using them to continue improving my Strom

Install was easy and took an hour or less. No need for a special spring tool. Use a long heavy flat head screw driver with flat sides for plenty of leverage.

There is a reason most people view products from SW-Motech as the best. This centerstand for my 2013 V-Strom 650 bolted on with no issues whatsoever and compliments their engine guards perfectly. With such fast shipping and the advice of the “string” trick, this was the best way to go!

The package arrived right on time. Upon opening it I was a bit overwhelmed at the number of pieces (22 in all) and the fact that all of the wording that I initially saw was in german. However there were very clear pictures and diagrams that took me thru the assembly step by step and the whole centerstand went together and onto my Strom without a hitch. A perfect fit and of excellent quality materials and design. Worth ever penny.

The install wasn’t bad, just go slowly and double check the bolt lengths. There is one that’s in a tight spot, and you won’t want to have to pull it out and redo it.

This center stand was easy to install and works great. It is very easy to get my bike up on the stand and it sits on it solidly. When I push my bike off the stand it comes down smoothly. This stand just plain works perfectly.

The installation of the centerstand was straightforward and easy. The installation video shows you how to easily connect the springs without the optional spring installation tool. The quality of the product is excellent. I have used the OEM centerstand as well, and I feel that the SW-MOTECH centerstand is better (easier to put the bike up). The SW-MOTECH centerstand is also less expensive than the OEM centerstand.

Easy install and perfect fit, but one mounting bolt is a bit challenging to get to. Incredibly smooth to put on the stand once installed. By far the best center stand I have used.

Purchased this center stand & was expecting (based on previous experience with other center stands…not by Twisted Throttle) installation to be a real bear. I read the directions several times, did a “dry-fit”, and installed the centerstand in less than 30 minutes! Excellent product!
