The SW-MOTECH center stand for Yamaha XSR700 adds an additional option for parking your motorcycle which enhances convenience stability and versatility over the original side stand. Question: I purchased this item from you and am very pleased with it. However, I want to add a full exhaust system to the bike and wonder if you know of any that will work. It appears the stand may be in the way of the down pipes. Do you have any suggestions?
Answer:
Having installed the center stand on my 2019 XSR700 but not yet ridden the bike I have 2 observations and 1 question: 1) the stand fits (my Yamaha dealer said it was impossible with the massive exhaust) and works perfectly. 2) the replacement heat deflector is a huge visual improvement over the o e trombone bell but it’s got many edges that are razor sharp. Came away bleeding after a post-install washup. Question: why the ridiculously long “bank sensors “. They are 1/2” longer than the stock feelers. I installed them to see if there was something I was missing and they are a trip hazard. They interfere with actuation of the side stand AND the center stand. Are you telling me I’m leaning too far if I’ve polished the stock ones? BTW the stock ones have been refitted.
