Question: Should I get the music version or a different one for using in conjunction with my Sena? I listen to music and chat with my friends.
Answer:
It is hard to recommend earplugs for specific use cases, because everyone's ears are different based on past damage and anatomy. This model will work well for your application, but I can't advise if the Music model would work any better or worse.

    They work as advertised

    Gabe Paal

I have been using mine for over 4 years and about 40K+ miles. I can still hear everything around me but at a much lower and safer level. Wind noise is significantly reduced. I can still hear the bike and can carry on a conversation when I make stops without removing my helmet. It does take a few tries to learn how to insert them. I read the instructions & learned how to properly insert them. The stems are now starting to split. So. I’m ordering another set when I finish this comment. I highly recommend them.

    OK but Not Great

    Fastuphill

I purchased the No Noise Motorsport model based on mostly favorable reviews. I was hoping to get away from throwing away foam plugs. The NoNoise were comfortable and did reduce noise but not enough for comfort on a long ride. I ride a ‘naked’ bike. I have gone back to foam plugs. Foam just does a better job reducing wind and road noise

    These work great for me

    dharum

I bought these about a month ago and have used them, primarily for commuting and longer rides. They do a great job of cutting down the excess wind and road noise. I can still hear my headset clearly. My ears seem to be the right size for these as they don’t go in too far and are fairly easy to take out.. I recommend them.

    RJ48

I’ve had the ear plugs for about a month and have ridden about 500 miles using them. They are comfortable, easy to put in with a little practice and block wind noise without blocking traffic sounds.

The ear plugs work well at speed below 40..
At speeds abouve 40 , it doesn’t work at all. Wind noise was terrible. My ears were on fire that night.

Even using a very good helmet, the wind noise is a problem. No noise let me talk with my wife, hear music, the engine, gps alerts, but filter all the wind. I give many as a gift and my friends love it.

Not impressed I don’t think they provide more DB protection than foam ear plugs at best. Trying the ETYMOTIC Ear Plugs purchased thru another vendor. I wish TT carried them!!!

  11. flewrc

One size does not fit all.

    flewrc

This is not suitable if your ear canal is not a standard size. My ear canal is not the size that the NoNoise will fit. My ear canal is fairly small so the NoNoise could not be pushed in far enough to be effective. This would account for the mixed review from excellent to very poor.
I tried to modify the plugs to fit my ear canal but could not make it work. I already had a pair of cutome molded earplugs that had a filter in it. I was hoping to find a cheaper alternative as a backup. Unfortunately this product did not work for me.
This will work if you have a normal ear canal size. It will not work if your ear canal is smaller or larger (goes in too far).

    ross

I was very skeptical of the claim that these would filter wing noise yet still allow my to hear lower pitched noise. Worked better than I expected. Wind howl is filtered but can still hear reasonably well to talk. More comfortable than foam plugs I had used previously

    Not for me

    Phil

I bought these a couple of weeks ago and tried them a several times times. First, I would recommend reading the instructions, that made inserting them easier. I don’t know if it is the shape of my ear canal but I found them very uncomfortable and even a bit painful. Once, I had to use a pair of needle nose pliers to get one out (a feature mentioned in the instructions!)

Unfortunately, but not surprising, I can’t return them. A rather expensive failed experiment.

    Useful but still noisy.

Just did a rabbit run up from one main city to another and back and while I’m thankful for them. The amount of wind you still get is quite high. Now mind you I might need to try in a different helmet.

    Love your ears

    Quincy

I thought I’d give these a shot to save my ears. When I got them and put them in, I thought they weren’t in all the way because I could still hear everything perfectly; nothing was muffled. They allow perfect hearing, but they block just enough noise so your ears don’t get damaged at higher speeds. My only niggle is that they don’t have different sizes, I would love a pair of smalls (I have tiny ear canals, and usually struggle with ear buds fitting etc). Do your ears a favor and pick these up.

These seem to reduce road noise as well as foam plugs but do not attenuate other sounds and there is none of the plugged up feeling. I will probably get some for workshop and yard care.

I had a previous pair of these and after about 2 years they felt a little small in my ears so I bought another pair. If they didn’t work, I would have looked at something else but these do what they are supposed to do.

    Works as advertised

    Ken

After a week wearing these, I bought a pair for my best friend. Work very well – just have to turn my intercomm up to max to hear voice and music.

Some people wrote that the stubs were too short – what they did was insert plugs too deep in ears (like I did the first time). Do not need to insert deeply like with the foam plugs. Push tem in just deep enough not to fall out.

    Good plugs

    Heinz

I bought these about a month ago and have use them three or four times. They work excellent and you can hear the people talking around you but they do definitely cut out the noise . I would highly recommend them. Some other reviewers complained about them being a little short so they are hard to get out of your ears but if you don’t put them in very far you don’t have that problem you just have to be careful .

    Best ear plugs out there

    MikeD

These things work great. You don’t get as much of the blocked ear as with other plugs. The noise especially wind noise reduction is awesome, but you really need to insert them deep into the ear canal to get maximum benefit. It makes ridding my Ducati much more pleasant

    Better than expected

    hmcquacky

My first pair of NoNoise ear plugs were the clear color. I liked them very much. I used them so much they wore out. I ordered a pair of the orange colored ear plugs which turned out to better reduce the noise while riding even at 70 mph. I easily hear my Sena communication speakers with the plugs in even at road speed. I recommend these ear plugs very highly.

    Works as Advertised

    GrizzlyBear

The design of these does exactly what it says. However, in the instructions, it says that if you have larger ears, you may have difficulty removing them and actually go as far as stating you may want to carry tweezers with you. Really? Who is going to carry tweezers with them as a standard course of riding gear? They weren’t kidding. I can’t get them out without grabbing them with my Leatherman. While I’m a big guy, I don’t have BIG ears…I would think rather standard ears, in fact. Great design but they need to make them longer so you can pull them out without needing a tool.

  30. Ouch

    Sticking with my foamies

    Ouch

I had some TT points that were expiring so I ordered these based on reviews and feedback I’ve received from riders I know. I’m glad I didn’t spend more than shipping (and I’d kinda like to get those $6 back).

I can confirm that conversations and music from my in-helmet headset are louder. However, so is everything else. Wind and exhaust noise are noticeably louder than my foamies (3M – 32 dB NRR)

The earplugs aren’t comfortable in my ear canal, and no amount of adjustment seems to improve things. They just hurt. I’m not sure if it’s the ceramic filter or something else, but they cause major discomfort. That’s where the next issue arises…

Trying to remove these from my ears is almost impossible! The stems are both too short and too small in diameter. I nearly had to use needle-nose pliers to remove them, as I simple could not get a grip on them to remove easily.

For the price, I will just buy another 2 years worth of 3M foamies from Lowes and call it a day!

    No Noise Hearing Protection

    Brian

I purchased these a month or so ago, have had the opportunity to get some hours of riding with them in. They perform just as advertised, tremendous sound suppression without the isolation from desired sounds. They also do not have the complete suppression of all sounds that you get from a normal ear plug. I’m very pleased with these: great hearing protection!
The container is also eminently practical; having it on my keychain makes them very hard to forget and leave behind (have done that too often with other ear plugs).

I bought these buds to use while riding my motorocycle and will say that are absolutely excellent ear and work as advertised. They drastically reduce windnoise, while allowing enough ambient sound through to maintain a safe riding experience.
